    As a Security Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role in monitoring, investigating, and responding to security threats across our systems and networks. You will help to enhance cybersecurity detection and response operations, contributing to the development of knowledge base materials such as playbooks and runbooks, and tracking key performance indicators. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the continuous improvement of our security posture.

    Responsibilities

    + Monitor, triage, and investigate security threats across systems and networks.

    + Help to continuously improve cybersecurity detection and response operations.

    + Contribute to Security Operations knowledge base materials, including playbooks and runbooks.

    + Track Security Operations key performance indicators (KPIs).

    + Participate in an on-call rotation for incident response and escalations.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in Security Engineering and AWS.

    + Experience with SIEM/EDR solutions and SOC.

    + Python programming skills.

    + Experience in incident investigation and remediation.

    + Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience working in a Security Operations program.

    + Familiarity with Cloud Security, particularly AWS.

    + Willingness to learn new Security Operations technologies and skills.

    + Experience triaging and investigating cybersecurity alerts.

    + Experience with SIEM, EDR, and log analysis.

    + Desirable: SIEM correlation rule tuning and lifecycle management.

    + Experience conducting training and mentoring for Security Operations and Incident Response.

    + Experience with infrastructure-as-code and metrics/data analytics.

    + Experience aligning Security Operations with industry standards including NIST, SOC2, or ISO.

    Work Environment

    This position offers the flexibility to work 100% remotely, with a preference for candidates based in the Pittsburgh area. You will be part of a dedicated team responsible for building, testing, and maintaining threat detection controls for our enterprise, as well as leading investigations of cybersecurity events. The team focuses on building, operating, and maintaining a mature Security Operations program.

    This is a Contract position based out of Pittsburgh, PA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
