UNIVERSAL Technologies is seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Analyst for a hybrid position in New York, NY requiring 3 days onsite to support complex information technology initiatives by eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and validating business and technical requirements. Candidates with an active LinkedIn preferred. This role serves as a critical liaison between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring solutions align with organizational objectives, technical standards, and user needs. The ideal candidate brings deep experience across requirements management, systems analysis, data analysis, and acceptance testing within enterprise and mission-critical environments.

MANDATORY SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Note: Candidates who do not meet the mandatory requirements will not be considered.
+ Minimum of 8 years of experience in application software development support, systems analysis, data analysis, data access, data structures, data manipulation, databases, testing, implementation, technical documentation, and software conversions across enterprise environments (mainframe, mid-range, client/server, web-based, and personal computing platforms)
+ Minimum of 8 years of experience specifying, analyzing, and documenting requirements for mission-critical business applications in web and client/server environments
+ Proven experience eliciting requirements using interviews, workshops, surveys, and document analysis
+ Strong experience creating and maintaining requirements traceability matrices (RTMs), user stories, business rules, workflows, use cases, process maps, and acceptance test cases
+ Demonstrated ability to identify and document current-state system deficiencies and propose future-state solutions
+ Strong understanding of application programming concepts, database design, system architecture, and technical design specifications
+ Experience working with legacy systems and modern web-based systems, including how they interface and integrate
+ Ability to define standards and templates for acceptance testing, test matrices, and test plans
+ Hands-on experience conducting and supporting acceptance testing and ensuring issue tracking and resolution
+ Strong data analysis skills, including the ability to analyze large and complex data sets
+ Ability to write and execute SQL queries; experience querying geospatial data sets preferred
+ Subject matter expertise or hands-on experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and tools such as ArcGIS
+ Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Visio and strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
+ Familiarity with Azure DevOps or similar application lifecycle management tools
+ Working knowledge of UX principles and experience prototyping user interfaces using tools such as Figma, Visio, or similar
+ Experience working within Agile, Waterfall, and RUP software development life cycle methodologies
+ Strong facilitation skills with proven ability to drive consensus among diverse stakeholder groups
+ Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
+ Ability to manage multiple priorities, estimate level of effort, and meet delivery commitments
+ Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams
+ Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field or equivalent experience
+ Business Analysis certification (CBAP and/or SAFe certification) preferred but considered mandatory-equivalent experience
SCOPE OF SERVICES
+ Identify and document functional and non-functional requirements using industry-standard analysis techniques, including data flow modeling, workflow analysis, and functional decomposition
+ Prepare, review, and maintain requirements documentation, specifications, business processes, and solution recommendations using standardized templates
+ Collaborate with business analysts, quality assurance teams, developers, project managers, and subject matter experts to define, validate, test, and implement requirements
+ Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and support teams to ensure shared understanding and alignment
+ Facilitate meetings, workshops, and working sessions; develop agendas and meeting objectives
+ Critically analyze information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and translate business needs into clear technical requirements
+ Contribute to rollout strategies and support implementation activities
+ Manage stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively regarding scope, changes, and impacts
+ Define acceptance test conditions, develop test plans, and support execution of acceptance testing activities
+ Track, report, and assist in the resolution of issues in a timely and effective manner
+ Promote strong collaboration, active listening, and professional communication across teams
+ Prepare clear, professional, and engaging written business correspondence and documentation
