    JOB SUMMARY

The Head of Engineering & Platforms is the senior leader responsible for building and scaling the product management team for core Customer and Commercial Experience platforms and the engineering capability that powers digital products for North America. This is a foundational, entrepreneurial role: this engineering organization is in its infancy, and this leader will take it from 0 → 1, establishing the Product Operating Model culture, systems, and technical backbone for how we build software going forward in the largest operating unit ($18Bn+) in The Coca-Cola Company.

This leader sets the engineering vision and technical strategy across the Customer Experience Landscape, ensuring our products and platforms are resilient, secure, scalable, and designed for high-velocity iteration. They will build modern engineering teams, elevate engineering excellence, and establish a platform architecture that accelerates product discovery, delivery and the ability to measure outcomes across multiple markets, bottlers, and global ecosystems.

The Head of Engineering & Platforms is a critical partner to leaders across the enterprise within both North America and the globe. Together, they shape integrated digital experiences and ensure engineering is tightly embedded in discovery, experimentation, and the delivery of customer, partner, and associate facing solutions.

This role requires deep technical judgment, business acumen, a product-oriented mindset, and the ability to build and scale engineering capabilities in a complex, multi-entity operating environment. The leader will define not just how we build technology, but how technology creates true business value and a strategic advantage for the System.

+ Influence global platform strategy by representing North America needs and identifying reusable patterns across markets.

    • **FINANCIAL / JOB SCOPE**

+ Direct accountability for the engineering organization's talent, operating budget, vendor strategy, cloud/resource consumption, and tooling ecosystem.

+ Oversees ~$40M+ annual investment portfolio, comprised of: _~$20M+ in engineering capacity_ _~$20M+ in platform, cloud, and SaaS investments_

+ Cloud and platform cost optimization across environments, APIs, platform services, observability, and system performance, directly influencing operational cost-to-serve.

+ Shaping multi-year capital planning for modernization, platform consolidation, shared services, and technical infrastructure investments.

+ Influencing system-wide investment decisions across: - _Digital products and experiences_ _- Shared platform capabilities_ _- Major enterprise integration initiatives_ _- Modernization and tech-debt retirement_

This role directly impacts customer experience, operational performance, commercial growth, and system cost structure through engineering effectiveness and platform leverage.

    COMMUNICATION COMPLEXITIES

Complexity in this role is inherently high due to the deeply matrixed nature of the Coca-Cola system, the multi-entity operating model (Company Operating Units, Platform Services, & Bottlers) and the mandate to build a world-class Product engineering capability where one does not meaningfully exist today.

+ Operate as a senior technology voice across functions, each with distinct priorities and incentives.

+ Drive alignment across environments where funding, data, systems, and ownership are distributed across multiple companies, geographies, and governance structures.

+ Translate architectural complexity, technical trade-offs, integration risks, and platform scalability considerations into clear business, financial, and customer implications for senior executives.

+ Influence global and North America technical strategy without direct authority, navigating tensions such as: - _Global platform standardization vs. local business needs_ _- Speed vs. operational reliability_ _- Engineering velocity vs. platform governance_ _- Modernization vs. short-term tactical delivery_

+ Communicate with clarity and precision across audiences, from senior technical architects to customers, to commercial leadership to executive governance bodies.

+ Establish new engineering communication rhythms, cultural norms, and decision-making mechanisms in an environment that is transitioning from legacy delivery models to a modern, product-driven and engineering-led operating model.

+ Represent the Company through excellent communication skills and leadership presence with internal and external customers and stakeholders.

Because this is the Company's first engineering leader charged with establishing a modern Product Management engineering organization, communication complexity, influence requirements, and stakeholder orchestration are significantly elevated.

    JUDGMENT AND DECISION-MAKING

The judgment bar for this role is exceptionally high. Decisions made by this leader have deep, multi-year implications for customer experience, commercial performance, operational reliability, and the digital competitiveness of the Company & System.

    This leader exercises ownership over:

+ Build-vs-buy decisions, including when to extend major platforms such as Salesforce versus building proprietary services (choices with multi-year financial and operational consequences).

+ Sequencing of technical investments that influence reliability, scalability, speed-to-market, and modernization priorities.

+ Drive experimentation to prove out capabilities vs full build out.

+ Talent and organizational structure decisions that determine how engineering capacity is deployed across product domains and enterprise initiatives.

+ Balancing near-term business needs with long-term platform scalability, technical integrity, and the retirement of systemic technical debt.

+ Escalations involving production reliability, customer-impacting incidents, architectural change, and integration complexity across the global/local system.

    INNOVATION

+ Modernizes how the enterprise builds, tests, deploys, and operates digital products by introducing advanced engineering practices, automation, and AI-enabled development tools.

+ Drives the creation of scalable, reusable platform services that allow product teams to move faster, reduce redundancy, and deliver consistent experiences across markets and channels.

+ Ensures innovation is purposeful, tied to measurable business outcomes, and aligned with commercial, customer, and operational strategies.

This leader sets the technical foundation and cultural norms that will shape the organization's innovation capacity for years to come.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

+ Directly leads 6-10 engineering leaders, including engineering managers, directors, principal engineers, product leaders, platform leads, and quality leaders.

+ Builds and scales a 100-150+ person engineering organization from the ground up, creating product‑focused team models, leadership development programs, hiring standards, and systems that support rapid learning and capability growth.

+ Designs the engineering organization structure, including team topology, decision rights, and operating mechanisms that support empowered product teams.
