THE POSITION
Are you an organized and detail-oriented administrative professional with outstanding communication abilities? The Department of Transportation, Westmoreland County Maintenance Organization is seeking a Clerical Assistant 3 (Timekeeper) to join our team. This essential position focuses on accurately managing timekeeping records and ensuring adherence to all relevant policies and regulations. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this position, you will serve as the key timekeeper for Westmoreland County, responsible for monitoring employee work hours, absences, and overtime while resolving any discrepancies that may occur. Your duties will also include generating leave balance reports, ensuring that all employee e-Payrolls are saved in a completed status, and that equipment payrolls are maintained with supervisor approval in line with record retention guidelines. You will verify that all leave requests are accurately documented and review payroll outputs to confirm that employee payments comply with established pay rules, policies, and procedures. Additionally, you will inform employees of any payroll errors, detailing the nature of the issue, the steps required for resolution, and the potential impacts.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ One year as a Clerical Assistant 2 (commonwealth title) ;or
+ One year of moderately complex clerical experience ;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
+ This position requires keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
Additional Requirements:
+ You must be able to perform essential job functions.
This position is subject to the provisions of a collective bargaining agreement or memorandum of understanding. If no applicable union-covered bidders apply, other applicants may be considered.
