• Forklift Operator

    WestRock Company (Lexington, KY)


     

    Hiring for 1st Shift, M-F, 7 am - 3 pm. Must be flexible to work either 1st or 2nd Shift.

     

    Overtime: could work 10 hour days, instead of 8 hours.

     

    Pay starts at $17.44 - $20.71 / hour.

    Responsibilities:

    * Operation and maintain forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properly operate the forklift.

    * Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.

    * Pull units off of conveyor line.

    * Load and unload trucks with the lift truck.

    * Understand and operate the computer system to scan in and bill out. (if applicable)

    * Properly scan load tags into computer system.(if applicable)

    * Responsible for keeping work area clean.

    * Follows Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)

    * Assists other employees as necessary.

    * Comply with the safety guidelines and safety rules provided by the company as well as exercise common sense and good judgment in performance of duties.

    * Perform other duties as required.

    What you need to succeed:

    * High School Diploma or equivalent

    * Ability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.

    * Ability to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions

    * Ability to read tape measure and perform basic math calculations

    * Ability to deal with other employees and management in a courteous, tactful and patient manner.

    * Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

    * Ability to safely operate lift truck.

    * Exercise proper safety precautions.

    * Forklift experience a plus

    * Experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment

    * Must be willing to work overtime and weekends
