Job Title: Field Services Telecommunications

Technician (Hospital Setting)

Role Overview

Responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining telecommunications systems in a hospital environment, including Daisy chain software phone setups. The role ensures reliable communication infrastructure for clinical and administrative operations.

Key Responsibilities

+ Installation & Configuration

+ Perform Daisy chain software phone installations for VoIP and analog systems.

+ Set up and test telephony devices (emergency phones, intercoms, facsimile terminals).

+ Run new wiring and replace jacks, lids, and pedestals as needed.

+ Maintenance & Troubleshooting

+ Diagnose and resolve technical faults in telecommunications systems.

+ Troubleshoot POTS/analog lines for alarm panels and elevator systems.

+ Handle move/add/change requests for phones and related equipment.

+ Project Work

+ Participate in large-scale upgrades and hospital technology projects.

+ Collaborate with engineers and IT teams for system integration.

+ Compliance & Safety

+ Maintain inventory of hardware/software and adhere to hospital safety standards.

+ Ensure installations meet infection control and HIPAA compliance requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

+ High school diploma or equivalent technical training.

+ 1–2 years of experience in telephony or low-voltage cabling.

+ Familiarity with:

+ VoIP systems and IP networking basics.

+ Digital/analog cross-connect wiring and patch panels.

+ Tools such as punch-down kits, tone generators, and test sets.

+ Ability to read blueprints and wiring diagrams.

+ Strong customer service and communication skills.

Preferred Certifications

+ BICSI, Network+, or A+ certifications.

+ Experience with PBX provisioning and hospital-grade telecom systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr.
