Northrop Grumman seeks a Manager to deepen and expand the company’s relationship with the executive branch. The Manager, Government Relations reports to the Vice President of Government Programs, Executive Branch, and is responsible for working to advance Northrop Grumman's priorities across the interagency.
Based out of Falls Church, VA, the Manager will lead development of preparatory documents for senior leader engagements, to include interfacing with the sectors and customers for appropriate content, will support the execution of the Executive Branch Engagement Plan, and assist in the development and execution of engagement strategies for a diverse number of issues across the enterprise, to include space, defense, aeronautics, and mission priorities. Manager will collaborate with business and corporate leaders and provide advice and recommendations.
He/she will work as part of a team to provide company leadership with timely executive branch and interagency analysis and will represent the company directly with appropriate counterparts across the interagency. The individual will facilitate executive branch engagements, including briefings, visits to company facilities, and events.
Basic Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
+ Significant experience in navigating the interagency and comprehensive knowledge of national security policy formulation.
+ Demonstrated ability to provide strategic recommendations.
+ Extensive exposure to the political environment, national security policies and priorities, and federal budgeting, to include the authorization and appropriations processes.
+ Timely and thorough analytical skills, and the ability to communicate about complex issues to both internal and external executives and decision makers.
+ Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
+ Active Top Secret clearance
+ Master’s Degree in related field.
+ Proven ability to synthesize complex problems/public policy issues while identifying related business implications and advocacy approaches.
+ Political acumen and the ability to operate in ambiguous policy environments.
+ A strong track record of building and maintaining effective relationships.
+ The demonstrated ability to build and foster effective relationships with others.
+ Uncompromising ethics, integrity, and sound judgment.
+ Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
Primary Level Salary Range: $175,400.00 - $263,200.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
