    Pay Rate: $55/hr

     

    Hours: 32 per week

     

    Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:20 AM – 2:35 PM

     

    Contract Dates: January 5, 2026 – End of School Year

    Position Overview

    We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in Des Plaines, IL. Under the direction of the Special Education Program Administrator, you will provide high-quality services to students in grades 3–5 within a self-contained classroom setting. This role emphasizes collaboration with general education staff and active participation in planning and implementing individualized student programs.

    Caseload Details

    + Grade Level: 3rd–5th

    + Caseload: 5–8 students

    + Classroom Type: Self-contained

    Responsibilities

    + Deliver specialized instruction and tutorial assistance to students with diverse learning needs.

    + Collaborate with general education teachers and support staff to ensure inclusive practices.

    + Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.

    + Participate in IEP development and progress monitoring.

    Minimum Requirements

    + Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university (preferred).

    + Valid Illinois Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement (LBS1 preferred).

    + At least one year of teaching experience (preferred).

    + Ability to meet all professional standards and health requirements (CPR, TB test, health certificate as applicable).

    + Must be at least 18 years of age.
