We are seeking a **Mechanical Engineer** to join our growing multi-disciplinary team in the **New York** market. In this role, you will support mechanical system design and coordination across a diverse portfolio of projects, including healthcare, academic, institutional and government buildings, museums, laboratories, commercial offices, and mission-critical facilities, contributing to high-performing, resilient, and sustainable building solutions.
The role
+ Support mechanical engineering design for multi-disciplinary projects, with exposure to mission-critical and data center infrastructure, including complete airside systems, chilled water and condenser water plants, specialty exhaust systems, and steam systems.
+ Assist in the design of high-availability cooling strategies (e.g., N+1 / 2N redundancy, scalable plant configurations, and energy-efficient cooling solutions) that support continuous operations.
+ Coordinate closely with electrical, structural, fire protection, and architectural disciplines, working in conjunction with project managers to deliver fully integrated and coordinated design packages.
+ Support client engagement related to project delivery, performance requirements, and repeat business, particularly for technically complex facilities.
+ Prepare drawings, specifications, technical reports, and presentation materials, incorporating sustainability, energy efficiency, and resilience principles aligned with data center operational goals.
+ Present technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, including internal teams and clients.
+ Participate in local professional associations and stay informed of evolving mission-critical and data center design trends.
The Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering required.
+ Minimum 2 years of professional experience designing building HVAC systems, including airside and hydronic components; experience with mission-critical facilities, data centers, or hospitals is preferred.
+ Working knowledge of high-reliability environments, including cooling system redundancy, capacity planning, and operational considerations (preferred).
+ Proficiency in Revit MEP.
+ Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including IMC, IECC / ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 170, LEED energy efficiency and indoor environmental quality, and NFPA.
+ Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-based environment.
+ Confident presentation skills when engaging with colleagues and clients at all levels.
+ Ability to prioritize effectively, manage multiple workstreams, and maintain strong organizational skills in a fast-paced, evolving environment.

**New York / New Jersey Hiring Range** - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in NY/NJ is $90,000 to $106,700 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of NY/NJ will differ.
