    Position is located:Northern Light A.R. Gould Hospital

     

    Work Type: PRN

     

    Hours Per Week: 0.00

     

    Work Schedule: 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

    Summary:

    The Registered Nurse will work within the infusion clinic to administer on an outpatient basis, infusion therapies and monitor and record results for providers. This position will also coordinate services with lab and other entities participating in patients' care. Excellent IV skills (infusion therapy and ultrasound IV experience a plus); performs therapeutic phlebotomy, patient monitoring, US IVs, and assists with PICC lines. Customer service priority working with patients, colleagues, care managers, home care agencies and referring providers.

    Responsibilities:

    + Receives orders from providers and schedules appointments for patients. Keeps patient records for treatment and billing purpose.

    + Assess and document the health status of the patient, explains procedures, checks vital signs, administers therapy, initiates IVs, including PICC lines and ultrasound IVs, monitors reactions and maintains infection control standards.

    + Deliver infusions or injections in accordance with prescribed protocols and organization guideline. Provide onsite supervision of patients.

    + Assist in maintaining medical inventory and supplies.

    + Openly communicate with referring/prescribing providers, such as order clarification, patient status, and plan of care.

    + Other Duties as Assigned.

    Other Information:

    + Must meet certification requirements for the RN position within the department assigned.

    + PICC line certified preferred (and required within 6 months of hire).

    + Required Registered Nurse

    Education

    + Required Associate's DegreeExperience with PICC line management and insertion and Ultrasound IV competency and infusion nurse certification preferred.
