    ABOUT THE JOB

    We are seeking a Plant Packaging Engineer with a strong background in food or

    beverage packaging operations to lead performance optimization, equipment

    reliability, and efficiency initiatives across our packaging lines. This role will focus on

     

    driving continuous improvement through data analysis, root cause investigation, and

     

    implementation of innovative solutions that enhance throughput, reduce waste, and

     

    ensure product quality.

     

    The ideal candidate will be both hands-on and strategic, with proven experience

     

    working in high-speed packaging environments and applying Lean and Six Sigma

     

    principles to deliver measurable results.

    WHAT YOU'LL DO

    1. Conducts benchmark studies of industry packaging capabilities in order to identify

     

    most effective and efficient approaches for GSF.

     

    2. Analyze packaging line performance data to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies,

     

    and downtime trends.

     

    3. Develop and implement process improvement initiatives focused on increasing

     

    productivity, reducing waste, and improving OEE (Overall Equipment

     

    Effectiveness).

     

    4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Maintenance, Quality, Operations, and

     

    R&D) to evaluate packaging performance and drive corrective action plans.

     

    5. Design and execute experiments (DOE) to optimize equipment parameters,

     

    material usage, and process reliability.

     

    6. Support capital improvement projects, including line upgrades, new equipment

     

    commissioning, and layout changes to improve material flow and ergonomics.

     

    7. Performs other related and assigned duties as necessary.

    WHAT YOU'LL NEED

    Education/Certification:

    Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Packaging or Manufacturing Engineering

    Experience:

    3+ years of relevant work experience.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Knowledge of (B/basic; J/journey; E/expert):

    • Existing and emerging packaging technologies (E)

    • Package engineering (E)

    • Management concepts and techniques (J)

    • Relevant division or department policies and regulations (J)

    • Statistical process control concepts and data analysis (J)

    • Regulatory requirements for packaging and labeling (J)

    • Technical characteristics of packaging and measurement techniques (J)

    • PC word processing/spreadsheet software applications (B)

    Skill and ability to:

    3+ years of experience in food, beverage, or consumer packaged goods

     

    (CPG) manufacturing; packaging experience preferred.

     

    Demonstrated success in process optimization, equipment troubleshooting,

     

    and project management.

     

    Working knowledge of Lean, Six Sigma, TPM, and Statistical Process Control

     

    (SPC) tools.

     

    Strong analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis software (Excel,

     

    Minitab, Power BI).

     

    Experience with high-speed filling, labeling, or case packing systems is a

     

    plus.

     

    Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional

     

    initiatives.

     

    Hands-on, proactive, and safety-focused approach to continuous

     

    improvement.
