    Job Description

    The Sr. Director of Data, AI, and Enterprise Architecture will serve as the enterprise leader responsible for defining and executing our client’s data, artificial intelligence (AI), and enterprise architecture strategy. This role will shape the company’s data-driven future driving innovation, operational excellence, and competitive differentiation through modern data platforms, intelligent automation, and scalable architecture.

     

    As a key member of the IT leadership team, this role will set the strategic direction for data management, analytics, AI/ML enablement, and enterprise architecture to unlock business value, improve decision-making, and enhance customer experiences. This leader will partner closely with senior executives across business units to ensure that data, our client’s strategic objectives and long-term growth.

     

    This position will be critical in innovating, transforming and enhancing business processes and capabilities that provide solutions for our business while at the same time laying the foundation for future technology advances.

    PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategic Leadership:

    • Define and execute an enterprise-wide data, AI, and architecture vision that aligns with corporate strategy and drives measurable business outcomes.

    • Partner with senior leaders across our client to embed data and AI into the core business model accelerating efficiency, innovation, and customer engagement.

    • Establish governance, standards, and operating models for data and architecture to ensure reliability, scalability, and security across the enterprise.

    Data Strategy & Governance:

    • Oversee enterprise data platforms, governance, and analytics to ensure data integrity, accessibility, and business relevance.

    • Drive enterprise-wide data democratization and literacy, enabling all teams to leverage data as a strategic asset.

    • Identify opportunities to monetize data and create differentiating insights that position our client as an industry leader.

    AI & Innovation:

    • Champion the design and deployment of AI and generative AI solutions that enhance business processes, workforce productivity, and customer experiences.

    • Build an AI Center of Excellence to govern, accelerate, and scale AI initiatives across functions.

    • Evaluate emerging technologies and establish external partnerships with vendors, startups, and research institutions to stay at the forefront of innovation.

    Enterprise Architecture:

    • Lead the development of a future-ready enterprise architecture that aligns business capabilities, data, and technology strategy.

    • Define architecture roadmaps that support modernization, integration, and cloud transformation.

    • Ensure technology investments are strategically aligned, cost-effective, and optimized for performance and agility.

    Organizational Leadership

    • Build and lead a high-performing team of data, AI, and architecture professionals focused on innovation, delivery, and continuous improvement.

    • Cultivate a culture of accountability, collaboration, and curiosity that drives transformation.

    • Mentor and develop leaders who can scale the organization’s data and AI capabilities for the future.

    Stakeholder Engagement:

    • Serve as the enterprise advocate for data and AI, effectively communicating value, vision, and progress to the Executive Committee and Board when appropriate.

    • Translate complex technology strategies into clear business narratives that inspire confidence and investment.

    • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure all business areas are aligned and empowered through data-driven insights.

     

    $200,000 to $250,000 per year annual salary.

     

    Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

    Skills and Requirements

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA strongly preferred.

    • 15+ years of progressive experience in data, AI, and enterprise architecture leadership, including at least 7 years in executive or senior-director roles.

    • Proven success developing and executing data and AI strategies that drive measurable business impact.

    • Deep understanding of modern enterprise architecture frameworks, data platforms, and AI/ML ecosystems.

    • Demonstrated ability to lead transformation initiatives across complex, matrixed organizations.

    • Exceptional executive presence, communication, and influencing skills.

    • Strategic thinker with the ability to translate business objectives into actionable data and technology strategies.

    • Strong business acumen with the ability to identify value creation opportunities through data and AI.
