    Job Description

    BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Engineering Technologist to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. The successful candidate will play a critical role in the development and promulgation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Principles of Operations for the U.S. and UK TRIDENT II Strategic Weapons System (SWS) and Attack Weapons System (AWS).

     

    From the customer's facilities at the Washington Navy Yard, Washington, D.C., this position coordinates and maintains configuration of TRIDENT II documentation, ensuring accuracy and integrity, develops responses to Fleet, contractor, and Navy program office documentation requests, participates in the documentation change process, ensuring timely start and execution, participates in the documentation change process, ensuring timely start and execution, supports daily operations of the SP205 Documentation Organization, including Operational Documentation Reviews, Documentation Working Groups, and Operational Safety Studies, coordinates Technical Documentation Change Requests and Technical Information Data Base (TIDB) inputs between contractors and Naval organizations per the Strategic Systems Programs Electronic Technical Documentation (SSPETD) delivery system program.

     

    There is no relocation assistance for this position. If relocation is necessary, the selected candidate must be willing to relocate at his/her own expense.

     

    Required Education, Experience, & Skills

     

    Minimum education and years of related/relevant experience required: High School Diploma and at least 8 years of recent and related professional work experience.

    Additional skills/experience required:

    + Navy SSBN Strategic Weapon System (SWS)/SSGN Attack Weapon System (AWS) Missile Technician experience

    + Knowledge of Strategic Weapons System (SWS) TRIDENT II SSBN/SSGN Attack Weapon System (AWS) Program including SWS Missile Launching System, SWS/AWS Missile Support Systems, SWS/AWS Fire Control System, SWS Targeting, SWS/AWS Standard Operating Procedures, SWS/AWS Preventive Maintenance Procedures, SWS/AWS Configuration Management

    + Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills

    + Ability and willingness to travel to various CONUS and OCONUS locations up to 20%

    + Ability to learn new skills involving evolving tasks

    Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

    + Knowledge of Strategic Systems Programs Organization

    + Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

    + Technical Writing skills/experience

    + Experience with Adobe Acrobat

    + Familiarity with creating Electronic Documentation

     

    Pay Information

     

    Full-Time Salary Range: $95106 - $161680

     

    Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
