Summary:
Meta is seeking a highly organized and proactive Public Policy Associate to support operational processes and project management related to state and local political contributions, campaigns, and engagements. The ideal candidate will have experience in operational functions related to public policy, legislative engagement, advocacy, and campaign operations, as well as effective analytical, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills.This role collaborates closely with Finance, Legal, Communications, and other Public Policy teams to advance Meta’s state and local priorities. Candidates should demonstrate a keen interest in public policy and familiarity with Meta products.
Required Skills:
Public Policy Associate (Operations) – State & Local Policy Responsibilities:
1. Operations and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Manage planning, logistics, and tracking for budgets, contracts, legislative work, political engagement, and partner initiatives. Maintain and improve team trackers, documentation, and operational processes. Support rapid-response efforts and time-sensitive cross-functional projects
2. Stakeholder Engagement: Coordinate and plan engagement with external state and local policymaker organizations. Manage assets for engagements, including visuals, sponsorship materials, and recap communications
3. Legislative & Policy Support: Track, organize, and operationally support advocacy efforts on state legislation across the United States Develop briefing materials, assessments, and presentations as needed
4. Internal Strategy & Execution: Drive processes leading to clarity and alignment on key priorities for the State & Local Policy Team. Provide timely updates and briefings to leadership and internal stakeholders. Manage multiple projects simultaneously and ensure timely delivery across stakeholders
5. Move with a sense of urgency and remain responsive while collaborating with a global team
6. 30% domestic travel required

7. Bachelor’s degree
8. 5+ years of experience in state public policy, government affairs, advocacy, political engagement, finance, or related fields
9. Effective understanding of state legislative processes and stakeholder engagement
10. Demonstrated experience executing advocacy campaigns and cross-functional initiatives
11. Effective analytical, problem-solving and communication skills
12. Proven project and event management experience managing multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
13. Work autonomously with effective organizational skills and attention to detail
14. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite

15. Proven experience to rapidly earn trust and operate effectively with cross-functional partners
16. Experienced user of Google Sheets (budget experience preferred), Quorum, and similar tools
17. Demonstrated experience managing complex timelines, cross-functional dependencies, and competing priorities
18. Experience working in a high-energy, hands-on, campaign-like environment
Public Compensation:
$119,000/year to $177,000/year + bonus + equity + benefits
