Research Associate 2

The Cooperate Institue of Marine and Atmospheric Studies at the University of Miami Rosenstiel School of Marine, Atmospheric and Earth Science has an exciting opportunity for a full time Research Associate 2. The researcher will contribute to the University’s research activities under the supervision of senior staff. Moreover, the incumbent understands, interprets, and complies with research policies and protocols.CORE JOB FUNCTIONS1. Performs specialized and complex experiments.2. Participates in the publication of significant research results.3. Advances expertise through education, training, and research.4. Writes extramural proposals to gain support when appropriate.5. Collects, prepares, analyzes, dissects, and evaluates specimens and tissue cultures.6. Weighs and anesthetizes laboratory animals for experiments.7. Operates sensitive and highly complex laboratory equipment.8. Performs calculations to complete research test results.9. Performs photography and dark room processing.10. Participates in training sessions and workshops.11. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.CORE QUALIFICATIONSEducation:Bachelor’s degree in relevant field requiredExperience:Minimum 2 years of relevant experience requiredCertification and Licensing:Refer to department description for applicable certification requirementsKnowledge, Skills and Abilities:
