    Senior Financial Planning & Analyst

    Reporting To: Director of Finance/Controller

     

    Compensation: $87,000 - $100,000 / year

    Description

    This position is responsible for Knowles Precision Devices Finance Team. Responsible for provision of financial information and analysis to meet corporate reporting deadlines and support management decision making. The successful candidate will have excellent technical accounting skills and the ability to organize financial data and present clear, concise, management level analyses. The ability to assimilate and manipulate large amounts of data is essential as are strong analytical, IT and communication skills. There are no direct reports for this position. Some travel may be required.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Proven ability to work independently and bring projects to completion while demonstrating strategic thinking.

    + Consolidating, reporting and investigating factory and divisional overhead costs using activity based costing techniques

    + Maintaining the General Ledger ensuring costs are recorded correctly and work with Purchasing to ensure POs are coded to correct Product Line

    + Support monthly closing procedures; Review Inventory Journal Entries and Balance Sheet Reconciliations

    + Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making regarding planning, forecasting and budgeting processes.

    + Institute and manage policies and procedures designed to provide proper organizational and financial controls related to cost reporting including data collection, cost activities and inventory management.

    + Develop and maintain BU cost allocation model.

    + Coordinate with various department to collect financial information and provide reports to Site leadership.

    + Support Weekly Pulse estimates; Revenue, COGS, GM and provide variances to forecast

    + Provide recommendations to reduce costs and improve financial performance. Monitor Value Creation projects, reporting out variances to forecast.

    + Fixed Asset Management (including assisting in preparing ROI analysis for Capital Projects as needed) and conduct Fixed Asset Audit annually

    + Track Precious Metal Usage, work with operations to forecast cleaning projects and communicate Cash receipt data to treasury

    + Develop financial presentations for Site leadership.

    + Ad hoc support to Controller

    Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

    + BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance. MBA, CPA a plus.

    + 7-10 years of progressive accounting/financial analysis experience in a manufacturing environment. Standard costing experience is preferred.

    + Must have intermediate to expert level Microsoft office skills, with Microsoft Excel focusing on pivots, vlookups, macros, etc.

    + 5+ years of experience with budgeting, financial analysis, forecasting and reporting to include variance explanations.

    + Demonstrated understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

    + Sarbanes Oxley experience is preferred

    + Proficient in financial modeling techniques and spreadsheet creations.

    + Experience with ERP system (Oracle), Blackline, and HFM/Essbase consolidation/reporting systems and experience in a cross-functional environment

    + Strong analytic and communication capabilities with ability to present information in ways that is relevant to the audience.

    One element in our total compensation package is base pay. The starting salary for this role is targeted to be between $87,000 to $100,000 annually.

     

    Individual compensation decisions are based on a number of factors, including but not limited to previous experience and skills acquired prior to joining Knowles, cost of living in the assigned work location, assigned schedule, and salaries of similarly situated peers at the company. It is to be expected that candidates will come to us with different sets of skills and experiences and therefore will be paid at different points in the stated range. We recognize that the person(s) we select for hire may be less experienced or more experienced than the role as posted; if this is the case, any updates to available salary ranges will be communicated with candidates during the recruitment process.
