Summary This position is located in the Office of the General Counsel, Managing Executive's Business Solutions Office, which is responsible for managing the office's resources including finance, contracts, eDiscovery and Litigation support, technical support and personnel. Responsibilities As an eDiscovery Support Specialist, you will: Provide eDiscovery, litigation, technical and programmatic support as needed to maintain daily operations for the office. Support the development and maintenance of existing IT systems by drafting associated policies and/or procedures. Assist in the evaluation, operation and support of eDiscovery tools to meet OGC litigation support requirements, many of which are complex, sensitive or involve short suspense time for response. Provide technical support for the migration of current systems in accordance with SEC cloud initiatives. Applications include litigation support tools, Microsoft 365 cloud, other cloud-based collaborative platforms, or other technical tools. Serve as Contracting Officer Representative for IT service and/or expert contracts when needed. Lead a broad range of projects that involve working with staff at all levels both within and outside of OGC by communicating and providing information, compiling data, and drafting documents for management review. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement. Time-in-grade for this announcement is one year at the GS/SK-13 level. Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. BASIC REQUIREMENT: Applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below: Attention to Detail - Reviewing work to ensure it is in line with established standards or to identify deficiencies; Customer Service - Collaborating with customers to identify their information technology needs or to resolve their hardware and software problems; Oral Communication - Explaining technical information orally to non-technical audiences; Problem Solving - Evaluating alternatives to recommend solutions to hardware or software problems. MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT: In addition to meeting the basic requirement, applicants must also meet the minimum qualification requirement SK-14: Applicant must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS/SK-13 level: Providing IT technical service for a variety of litigation support products and services (ie., electronic case management systems, trial presentation software tools and databases, eDiscovery systems); AND Utilizing various Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies (i.e waterfall, spiral, agile, rapid prototyping, incremental, and synchronize and stabilize) for litigation-related applications; AND Implementing the processing, delivery, and tracking of investigatory and litigation data in cases involving large volumes of documentary and/or digital evidence.
