This position, focused on supporting projects in health research and innovation, requires specialization in developing cross-platform mobile development (React Native) and enterprise systems (Salesforce). The role is responsible for building and maintaining critical applications that support cutting-edge nursing research, clinical training, and community health initiatives, thereby directly contributing to improved patient care and health outcomes. Key Responsibilities:
Project Management & Quality Assurance
+ Support the successful achievement of project development objectives, milestones and timelines.
+ Work with end-users, researchers, and administrators to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
+ Implement rigorous testing, code reviews, and CI/CD pipelines to ensure code quality, security, and maintainability.
+ Uphold best practices in security and data privacy, particularly concerning sensitive educational and health data (e.g., HIPAA compliance considerations in a research/clinical setting).
Full-Stack & Mobile Development
+ Design, develop, and deploy cross-platform mobile applications for faculty and students using React Native to support educational and research initiatives (e.g., data collection, clinical training tools).
+ Develop robust, scalable, and secure RESTful and GraphQL APIs (using Node.js, Python, or similar backend technologies) to facilitate seamless data exchange between the front-end, Salesforce, and other systems.
+ Manage and optimize server-side logic, database interactions, and application performance.
Salesforce Ecosystem Management
+ Customize and extend the Salesforce platform (Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, or similar) using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Visualforce to meet complex administrative, student success, and research tracking requirements.
+ Integrate Salesforce with external applications and databases via custom API development and third-party tools to create a unified data landscape.
Position Details
Initial Term: The position's term is a fixed-term position with an initial appointment date through the fiscal year ending August 31, 2026, as it is subject to annual renewal.
Expected Work Hours: Monday-Friday 9-5 with some flexibility and a minimum of at least two in-person days per week on College-designated anchor days.
In compliance with NYC’s Pay Transparency Act, the expected base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $165,000. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Required Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
+ Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Full Stack Development.
+ Expertise in React Native for building high-performance mobile applications.
+ Proven experience in Salesforce development (Apex, LWC, or Aura Components).
+ Demonstrated experience in API design and development (REST/GraphQL) and backend services (e.g., Node.js, Java, Python).
+ Strong proficiency in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern web development practices.
+ Experience with version control systems (Git) and Agile methodologies.
+ Experience with AI/ML Engineering: Predictive modeling, personalization algorithms, recommendation systems prompt engineering & LLM integration.
Preferred Skills
+ Salesforce Developer Certification (e.g., Platform Developer I/II).
+ Experience working in a higher education, healthcare, or non-profit/mission-driven environment.
+ Familiarity with cloud platforms (Heroku, AWS, or Google Cloud) and DevOps practices.
+ Knowledge of database systems (SQL/NoSQL) and data modeling.
