    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Logistics Coordinator will manage New Product Introduction (NPI) logistics and material scheduling required to successfully design, build, ship, and transfer new products from AE’s design center in Eden Prairie, MN into manufacturing. Additionally, this role will collaborate with development teams to ensure all NPI deliverables are met, to include, but not limited to shipment of products or parts and/or supporting incoming products and parts. In this role you will function as a liaison between R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Quality to coordinate product execution.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Coordinate outgoing shipments, processing incoming shipments, and ensure timely delivery of goods when using company tools.

    + Ensure accurate documentation for shipments, including bills of lading, invoices, and customs paperwork

    + Coordinates pick up and tracks shipments of various freight carriers. Interface with freight carriers to schedule pick-ups, track shipments, etc.

    + Optimize transportation routes and carrier selection to reduce costs, timeliness and improve delivery performance.

    + Performs all necessary transactions in AE software, freight carrier systems, and government agency websites

    + Coordinates production plans for new products ensuring availability of material to meet project schedules.

    + Manages on-time-delivery goals of products by committed ship date

    + Creates and maintains work orders, purchase requests and internal transfer orders

    + Works to resolve capacity, material constraints and other potential schedule interruptions

    + Approves unit quantities, schedules and parts lists provided to the material control organization to ensure timely and complete ordering, as well as receipt and issuance of production material requirements

    + Support NPI Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), as needed

    + Coordinates with engineering to create and maintain Bill of Material (BOM’s) with AE tools, as needed

    + Manages the release of parts, modules, and/or units to appropriate department in production

    + Interfaces with Planning, Engineering, Marketing and other organizations to ensure needs are met and to help resolve problems

    WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    + Location: Eden Prairie, MN

    + Works in a high-pressure environment under limited supervision

    + Works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment

    + Must be able to navigate through the production and engineering environment, following the processes and procedures dictated in manufacturing and engineering

    + Primarily works in an engineering environment which may be noisy and fast-paced

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs to support shipment of parts or products

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    + Ability to learn ERP systems used for managing projects and materials quickly

    + Ability to lead, plan and support the team related to any material management

    + Excellent Communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, engineers and peers

    + Ability to define problems, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions

    + Demonstrated proficiency with Windows-based platforms and with computer-based tools, including working knowledge of Database, Spreadsheet, and Word Processing software

    + Ability to multitask and work to strict deadlines within a fast-paced environment

    + Highly collaborative and open to take direction from many internal stakeholders

    EXPERIENCE:

    + 0-5 years experience in purchasing, planning or logistics

    + Basic understanding of manufacturing planning/scheduling and the processes associated with MRP/ERP preferred

    + Proven track record of success and growth in positions of increasing responsibility

    + Previous experience with SAP or other major ERP preferred

    + Experience working in a team and group setting with upper-level managers

    + Knowledge and / or experience of planning, scheduling or organizing tasks

    + Ability to embrace new technology and demonstrate an understanding of computer based systems/equipment.

    + Knowledge of planning tools, software or CMMS systems preferred

    EDUCATION:

    + Bachelor of Science degree in Operations Management, Finance, Business, Materials Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, or equivalent education required

    + American Production and Inventory Control Society (APICS) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) certification or other international certification preferred

    COMPENSATION:

    _As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting pay for this role is $24-$35/hourly._
