Independently responsible for managing database utilities, maintains relationships between the database users and applications, and maintains databases across multiple platforms. Responsible for development, modification, and maintenance of ETL processes for EPIC Clarity and Business Intelligence (SQL, PDW and other) environments. Architects, develops, implements, debugs and tests all types of data movement to and from SQL servers. Responsible for all facets of data management including analysis, creating extracts, scripts, scheduling, packages, mapping, monitoring, administration, upgrades and documenting specifications based on business needs. Sets and monitors standards and maintains database support tools, tables and dictionaries, and recovery and backup procedures. Advises management on database concepts and functional capabilities. Collaborates with technology/infrastructure staff to identify data relationships and functional requirements. Analyzes and resolves issues related to information flow and content. Establishes policies and procedures pertaining to the management, security, maintenance and utilization of databases. Proposes solutions to team leader and manager surrounding documentation standards, efficiency, quality, reporting and/or system updates. Instrumental in growing team knowledge by developing subject matter expertise in Data Integration and by engaging in critical thinking and analysis to seek and solve problems.
Education: Bachelor's Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Information Services, Computer Science, or related field.
Licensure/Certification: Epic Clarity ETL certification at time of hire is preferred. Must be able to obtain Epic Clarity ETL certification after completing training. Microsoft MCSA preferred.
Experience: 4 years applicable experience required. Strong development and database experience in SQL server administration (2016 or 2017, ideally 2019), SQL, stored procedures, and SSIS. Experience creating and loading dimensional database models in SQL server. Experience implementing ETL data quality improvement processes. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be available to work varied and flexible hours including nights and weekends as needed. Skilled at problem solving, strong organization skills, strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems. Must be available and accessible 24/7/365. Preferred Qualifications: Possess a deep understanding of data warehouse architecture, Microsoft SQL server database features.
