Join us at Ames CSD, where your strengths are celebrated, your potential is nurtured, and you’re surrounded by a community that champions your success.The Ames High School coaching staff is seeking three Track Assistant coaches for the 2026 spring season.Work Schedule: 2-3 hours per day (4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m) Monday-Friday with various nights and weekends during the season.Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

     

    + Supports Head Track Coach while instructing athletes about the fundamentals of track.

    + Attends all practices and has the ability to coach at an individual, small group, and team level.

    + Models sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.

    + Communicates effectively with coaching staff, student-athletes, parents, and school administration.

    + Participates in special events to include banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.

    + Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.

    + Abides by strict confidentiality at all times.

    Qualifications:

    + A current Iowa Department of Education coaching authorization.

    + Concussion certification.

    + Experience coaching track at the high school level preferred.

    + Create a sense of belonging and welcoming environment for all athletes, families, and staff.

    + Attend work on a consistent and punctual basis.
