    Job description

    Safran Aerosystems Evacuation senior level manager responsible for defining and executing the quality strategy across all manufacturing/service sites (est. 5 plants, North America), ensuring regulatory compliance, product safety, supplier performance and continuous improvement. Owns the Quality function resources, processes, systems, and departmental budgets (operating and travel). The position works in strong coordination with the manufacturing locations, ensuring support throughout the manufacturing processes.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and deploy a consolidated multi‑site quality strategy, policies, and objectives aligned with company, corporate standards and customer requirements.

    • Ensure compliance with aerospace regulatory requirements and standards (FAA, EASA, AS9100, NADCAP as applicable).

    • Lead and standardize the Safran QMS across all sites, including procedures, audit programs, document control and management review.

    • Oversee site Quality Managers and centralized functions: supplier quality, program quality, customer quality, development quality, quality systems, incoming, in process, final inspections, NCMR, CAPA and audit teams.

    • Drive enterprise-level CAPA and Root Cause Analysis programs; ensure timely, effective corrective actions and verification.

    • Assess and develop on-site problem-solving and root cause analysis capability through coaching, mentoring and on-site engagement.

    • Work collaboratively with manufacturing, engineering and supply chain to identify potential or high risk issues and deploy strategic resources to address across the company.

    • Establish and monitor consistent quality metrics and dashboards across sites; report consolidated performance to executive leadership.

    • Own supplier quality strategy for critical suppliers, work collaboratively with Supplier Performance Management to develop the improvement strategy; participates in supplier selection, performance management and escalation of quality issues.

    • Manage cross‑site quality harmonization projects (process controls, inspection methods, tooling and measurement systems, training).

    • Budget and financial responsibilities: own and manage the Quality organization operating budget and travel budget; prepare annual budgets and forecasts, monitor spending vs. plan, authorize expenditures within delegated limits and implement cost‑control measures.

    • Approve and prioritize quality investments and capital requests related to inspection, test equipment and continuous improvement initiatives in coordination with Finance and Procurement.

    • Serve as the executive interface with major customers and regulatory authorities on quality and airworthiness matters.

    • Responsible for hiring, performance management, and development of Quality leadership building talent and succession plans for quality leadership across the three sites; coach and develop site quality teams.

    Candidate skills & requirements

    Qualifications

    • Demonstrated multi‑site quality leadership experience and proven ability to harmonize processes across locations.

    • Strong knowledge of aerospace quality standards and regulatory frameworks (AS9100, FAA/EASA processes, NADCAP advantageous).

    • Track record managing departmental budgets, forecasts, and delivering cost efficiencies tied to quality programs

    • Strong communication skills across all aspects of the business, including employees, peers, customers, suppliers, regulatory agencies, Safran Aerosystems personnel and Safran Group management teams.

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Quality, or related technical field.

    • 15+ years' progressive quality and/or manufacturing experience in aerospace or similarly regulated industries, demonstrated senior leadership experience.

    Knowledge/Skills

    • Strategic leadership, risk mitigation, and change management across distributed teams.

    • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with customers, regulators, and senior executives.

    • Data‑driven decision maker; proficient with QMS, ERP, statistical tools, and performance dashboards.

    • Expert in RCA methodologies, Six Sigma, Lean, and continuous improvement practices.

    • Ability to travel regularly between the three sites and to customer/supplier locations, corporate headquarters and other Safran companies.

    • Extensive knowledge and practical use of SPC, APQP, FMEA/Control Plans Methods,

    • Languages- Spanish and/or French beneficial.
