• General Surgeon (Per Diem)

    Description

    Ideal Candidate

    + Board Certified MD/DO who has successfully completed a General Surgery Residency

    + At least 5 years of post-training experience due to the solo and rural nature of this position

    + Interest in a practice that is GI-heavy preferred

    + Ability to work independently and be excited about creative solutions for patients in our island community

    + Willingness to do a small amount of Wound Care, as there is not a wound care clinic on island. There is a Wound Care certified RN on staff

    Practice Highlights

    + Clinic Hours Monday-Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm

    + Call is 1:3 (roughly 10 days/month); 24-hour call for ED and Inpatients and any urgent surgeries

    + RN/LPN who have been on the team for many years – the practice flows really well

    + Good OR capabilities (no robotics)

    + 3 ORs - 2 are staffed all the time / 1 Minor OR / Procedure room in clinic for in-office General Surgery procedures

    + Visiting specialists for GI and Urology

    + Epic EHR

Our Trauma IV emergency department operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, staffed by physicians who are independent contractors employed by National Emergency Services (NES)._
