What You'll Do
As a **Defined Benefit Transition Manager** , you will coordinate the termination process of defined benefit plans and other deconversion services, such as contract terminations, with retirement plan sponsors. Develop strong client relationships through effective communication and delivery of expectations. Ensure that regulatory deadlines are met by client and recognize and research unusual and complex situations on behalf of clients. Assist with contributing to a high-performing team centered around innovation, process improvement, and collaboration.
+ Utilizing project management methodology, serve as the main point of contact for client interaction through various deconversion processes, including plan terminations and contract terminations. Implement a deconversion project plan and execute it to successful completion. Provide prompt and accurate technical, statutory, and regulatory information to customers to ensure a smooth termination process. Lead meetings, provide updated timelines, recognize and research unusual and complex situations on behalf of clients.
+ Communicate effectively with clients, as well as internal and external partners, providing timely status reports or timelines/project plan updates and ensure process is completed within governmental and business unit deadlines. Maintain overall responsibility for the plan termination. Negotiate solutions to meet both client and business needs.
+ Assist in the development of team members and business units by providing technical support, contributing to and leading team meeting discussions, and assisting with the prioritization of work within the team. Assist with the training and mentoring of new team members as needed. Assist with various process improvement initiatives.
+ Perform other job-related duties and special projects as required.
Who You Are
+ Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus 4+ years related work experience.
+ In-depth knowledge of defined benefit plans/products and contract provisions, defined benefit laws and regulations, and actuarial concepts/theory is highly preferred.
+ Plan termination experience is preferred.
+ Must possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
+ Advanced PC knowledge (spreadsheet and word processing) is required.
+ Must have ability to balance working independently with working in a team environment.
Salary Range Information
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.
Salary Range (Non-Exempt expressed as hourly; Exempt expressed as yearly)
$54000 - $152400 / year
Time Off Program
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Sr Defined Benefit Transition Manager **:**
+ Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus 7+ years related work experience.
+ In-depth knowledge of pension plan and contract provisions, pension laws and regulations, pension products required.
Sr Client Transition Manager II:
+ Requires bachelor's degree or equivalent, plus 7+ years retirement experience.
+ Must possess excellent leadership, decision-making, and negotiation skills, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
Work Environments
This role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, or Charlotte, NC). You’ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
