    Overview

    Transportation Site Supervisor (2025-24356):

    Bowhead is seeking a Transportation Site Supervisor who will be responsible for overseeing the daily transportation operations and providing direct Supervision to CDL Class A drivers while also supporting oversight of additional assigned operational areas.

    Responsibilities

    + Provides direct supervision and leadership to CDL A drivers and transportation personnel, ensuring daily operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with contract requirements.

    + Knowledge of Defense Travel System (DTS) and TRAMS preferred.

    + Must maintain accurate records related to driver qualification, inspections, and safety incidents.

    + Minimum of five (5) years of documented supervisory experience in a transportation-related field, ten (10) years preferred.

    + Attends meetings, briefings, and conferences as required by the customer and employer. Complete other tasks assigned by the supervisor.

    + Flexibility and capability to adjust work to operational needs and to meet emergency or changing program and/or production requirements.

    + Gains cooperation to coordinate the work of others or as a team player in a cohesive team environment.

    + Conducts and document safety briefings and meetings; reinforce a culture of safety and accountability.

    + Provides information and reports, resolve issues, and recommend actions to improve the delivery of services to the customers.

    + Understands applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations concerning traffic and transportation operations.

    + Plans, directs, coordinates, and controls traffic operations to provide economical and efficient transportation of government personnel, using government vehicles and contractor drivers.

    + Oversees vehicle readiness by ensuring daily inspections are completed, deficiencies are reported, and maintenance issues are coordinated with the maintenance team.

    Qualifications

    + Must have comprehensive knowledge of governing regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions in the areas of personal property, unit movement, materiel movement, and transportation motor pool operations.

    + Must be able to pass a stringent Federal criminal background investigation and pre-employment drug screening.

    + Strong organizational skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships; excellent written/verbal communication skills required.

    + High School Diploma or equivalent.

    + Must be able to obtain and maintain NACI clearance.

    + Must be able to provide US Citizenship documentation, such as a birth certificate or passport.

    + Must possess and maintain a valid CDL A license with an acceptable driving record.

    + Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)

    + Must be able to pass a pre- employment drug screen.

    Physical Demands:

    + Frequently lifts items weighing up to 30 pounds independently and occasionally lifts up to 65 pounds with assistance

    + Must be able to stand, walk and sit for prolonged amounts of time

    + Uses arms, hands, and fingers for pulling and positioning materials, sewing, and using tools such as shears

    + The operator is required to work outside and is occasionally exposed to all weather conditions while loading and unloading vehicle. Drives in all types of traffic and weather and is exposed to the possibility of serious accidents. The operator is subject to cuts, bruises, and broken bones as a result of accidents while driving or when loading and unloading vehicles.

     

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIRED: Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the Public Trust Level (NACI). Due to the location of this work, US Citizenship is required. Bowhead reserves the right to change this requirement if necessitated by business needs or contractual obligations.

     

    Applicants may be subject to a pre-employment drug & alcohol screening and/or random drug screen, and must follow UIC’s Non-DOT Drug & Alcohol Testing Program requirements. If the position requires, an applicant must pass a pre-employment criminal background history check. All post-secondary education listed on the applicant’s resume/application may be subject to verification.

     

    Where driving may be required or where a rental car must be obtained for business travel purposes, applicants must have a valid driver license for this position and will be subject to verification. In addition, the applicant must pass an in-house, online, driving course to be authorized to drive for company purposes.
