SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Safety Operations Manager, the Workers’ Compensation Coordinator will ensure the timely administration and coordination of AnMed's Workers' Compensation program. Work involves considerable internal and external contacts, difficult non-routine tasks and access to confidential information. Judgment and initiative are exercised frequently in answering verbal and written communications and in interpreting and applying organizational policies and procedures, while maintaining compliance with applicable law.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Performs all duties associated with AnMed’s Workers’ Compensation program in an efficient and thorough manner, and in compliance with applicable law. • Conveys courtesy, confidentiality and professionalism to injured workers, and to affected AnMed departments.
• Assists the Director of Safety and Security and Safety Operations Manager in forecasting and mitigating potentially catastrophic claims, and in modifying the program to support AnMed’s migrating interests.
• Maintains an effective working relationship with Employee Health, the Emergency Department, and other departments whose interaction is essential to comprehensive management of claims.
• Maintains a system of communication with Department Directors and Mangers, Physician offices, Antum Risk, and others customarily involved in the treatment or claims management processMaintains regular contact with injured workers to provide progress reports and respond to questions or concerns.
• In concert with Employee Health/Occupational Medicine, maximizes AnMed’s temporary modified duty and restricted assignment return to work policies and interests.
• Compiles and maintains claims files to support efficient resolution of claims. • Provides daily status update of all organizational worker injury to report in AnMed’s Organizational Safety Huddle.
• Coordinate all billing for approved visits and procedures for all claims accurately and in a timely manner.
• Act as liaison through all parties that may include Antum Risk, AnMed, legal representation, case management services, and physician services.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. III.
QUALIFICATIONS
• BA or BS Degree required, due to the level of written regulations from state and federal agencies, it requires this level of education to interpret and comply with these standards. OR • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in working with Workers’ Compensation and/or Worker Safety
