Job Title: Groundskeeper

Reports To: Lead Groundskeeper
Status: Part-time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Starting Pay: $15.97 per hour
SUMMARY : Groundskeepers are responsible for efficiently performing a variety of tasks to prepare and maintain property during winter months, specifically snow removal. The groundskeeper must be familiar with snow removal equipment, have excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
+ Exhibits a friendly, helpful and courteous manner when dealing with the guests and fellow associates
+ Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of machinery/equipment, such as tractors, snow plows, salt spreaders and snow blowers.
+ Maintain snow removal on Casino property, including the Administration Building.
+ Informs Lead Groundskeeper of any trends or recurring problems with equipment.
+ Basic knowledge of hand tools and repair
+ Effective interpersonal communication skills
+ Must be available “on-call”, basis, nights, weekends and holidays
+ Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks are essential
+ Must be a problem solver with the ability to find resolutions
+ Self-starting individual who follows directions, adheres to a work schedule, and can focus on details
+ Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
+ Must be flexible and able to work effectively in a team environment and consistently maintain a professional and respectful demeanor/attitude with co-workers, clients and vendors
+ Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be a Team Player and able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE : High school/GED diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driver’s abstract upon applying.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. This position is sedentary work. This position requires talking and answering phone calls, and other visuals. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally to move objects.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an associate encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation. The position exists in a casino work environment where there is occasional exposure of the associate to noise, cigarette smoke and atmospheric conditions.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS : Must obtain and maintain a St. Regis Mohawk Tribal Gaming work permit which requires a criminal background check to be used solely for employment purposes. Successful candidates for employment must submit to and pass a drug test for illegal substances prior to employment being confirmed. In case of a positive result, the candidate is not eligible for employment with the Akwesasne Mohawk Casino Resort. Employment will not begin until process is complete.
