    Basic Job Functions:

    The Day Shift Supervisor for the Galvanizing Line is responsible for overseeing all aspects of galvanizing operations, ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and cost efficiency. This role drives continuous improvement, manages team development, and ensures compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Safety Leadership:

    + Promote and cultivate a culture of safety and housekeeping across all operations.

    + Ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

    + Operational Management:

    + Plan, organize, and control galvanizing processes to meet production schedules and customer requirements.

    + Monitor line performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions to maintain continuous flow.

    + Oversee preventive maintenance programs and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.

    + Quality Assurance:

    + Ensure adherence to all industry-related standards and internal quality requirements.

    + Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve issues and maintain product integrity.

    + Cost & Resource Control:

    + Manage budgets, monitor consumables, and implement cost-saving initiatives.

    + Optimize energy usage and reduce waste through process improvements.

    + Team Development:

    + Lead, coach, and motivate production teams to achieve departmental goals.

    + Conduct performance evaluations and provide training for skill development.

    + Continuous Improvement:

    + Drive initiatives for process optimization, efficiency, and reliability.

    + Utilize Lean and Six Sigma principles where applicable.

    + Safety incident rate

    + Line uptime and throughput

    + Quality compliance (ASTM standards)

    + Cost per ton and waste reduction

    + Team engagement and development

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (preferred) or equivalent experience.

    + 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing, with at least 3 years in galvanizing or metal coating operations.

    + Strong knowledge of galvanizing processes (hot-dip and/or electro-galvanizing).

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management systems.

    + Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AISC standards.

    + Ability to interpret structural steel drawings and specifications.

    + Experience with Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.

    + Strong organizational and time management skills.
