Diesel Equipment Mechanic
We are seeking a skilled Diesel Equipment Mechanic to join our MANASSAS team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on our large inventory of heavy-duty rental equipment.
Salary: $27 to $40+/hr (Based on Experience)
Full-Time, First Shift (730-5p) Monday–Friday, with Overtime Available (paid for anything over 8hrs/day)
We’re looking for skilled Diesel Equipment Mechanics to join our growing team. You’ll work on a wide range of heavy-duty machines: keeping our equipment in top shape through regular maintenance, repairs, and inspections. NOT a mobile mechanic job – enjoy being indoors instead of out in the elements!
What You’ll Do:
+ Inspect, clean, service, and repair diesel-powered equipment (loaders, excavators, trucks, etc.). Perform regular preventive maintenance (oil changes, filters, fluids, etc.)
+ Prep returned equipment for its next use or lease
+ Use various tools, diagnostic software, and heavy equipment to Troubleshoot and fix issues with engines, brakes, electrical systems, and hydraulics
** **PLEASE NOTE:** You **MUST HAVE** some experience working on construction equipment and/or rental type equipment (more than “just” a vehicle mechanic) PLEASE DO NOT APPLY without at least some of this experience.
What You’ll Need:
+ At least 5 years of hands-on experience with diesel engines and/or heavy equipment
+ Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
+ Ability to diagnose problems and work independently or with a team
+ Must own a suitable set of tools
+ Familiarity with Service ADVISOR, Cummins Insite or similar diagnostic tools is a plus.
+ High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
+ Must be able to pass a basic background check and drug screen.
