Description
We are looking for a Technical Engineering/Application Manager to serve as the manager of our Card Installments technology team. This person will lead an agile development team focused on building Installments product capabilities that will be built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and that provide integrations (like RESTful APIs for our customer facing mobile application and all back end systems) that are needed to process Installments.
Responsibilities
+ Provide technical leadership, management, and hands on delivery for a Java development team that builds and supports our Installments ecosystem.
+ The application is highly available and handles high volume installment payment origination, processing, and settlement capabilities for customer and colleague facing front end user interface applications.
+ Provide technical leadership to the development team with design direction, code reviews, and unit testing direction.
+ Diagnose root causes to complex technical problems like performance, availability, internal and external application integrations, database, middleware (webserver, application server, MQ), network, etc.
+ Provide L3 production support 24/7/365 spread across the team.
+ Research and facilitate the monitoring, high availability and support methodology for our production environment.
+ Ensure that all development team deliverables are planned and completed. For example sprint planning, backlog grooming estimates, detailed design, development, unit/automated testing, defect fixes, implementation planning/execution, change controls, and production support/incident resolution.
+ Track and report on the development team's progress completing deliverables (code, documentation, grooming, etc) using systems like ADO.
+ Provide hands on development to team members to ensure that deliverables are completed.
+ Drive staffing decisions and activity for the development team (recruiting, engagement with HR/suppliers/vendors, interviewing, candidate selection, onboarding, etc).
+ Provide partnership and guidance to testers, analysts, and stakeholders.
+ Maintain evergreen system documentation containing design content, developer guidelines, onboarding procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Basic Qualifications
+ Bachelor's Degree
+ 7 years of hands on development using Java EE technologies that provide web services, incoming/outgoing file processing, and user interface capabilities.
+ 3 years of leadership experience including management experience
+ Hands-on depth with Bigtable, Cloud Run, Dataflow/Apache Beam, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, CI/CD, on (GCP) Google Cloud Platform or on similar cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
+ Proven expertise building operational data stores, event-driven architectures, and data quality controls.
+ Strong grounding in SRE/DevOps practices and security-first mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) and/or IaC (Terraform) certifications and/or work experience
+ Payments Originations and Servicing processing background in 1 or more of the following: Debit, Credit, Installments
+ Spring Boot, GIT, Maven, Jenkins, JSON & SOAP xml
+ Excellent communication, design, documentation, analytical, and SDLC skills.
+ 3 years delivering software using agile methodologies
+ Experience using monitoring tools like Dynatrace, Zenoss, Splunk, and log files to evaluate the health of mission critical production applications and to identify root causes for performance and functional issues

Compensation Range:
77,000.00 - 154,000.00 USD Annual
The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. Colleagues in this position are also eligible to participate in an applicable incentive compensation plan. In addition, Huntington provides a variety of benefits to colleagues, including health insurance coverage, wellness program, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid leave programs, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO).
