Description We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team on a contract basis in Santa Rosa, California. In this role, you will be responsible for handling complex reconciliations, analyzing detailed payroll data, and supporting crucial month-end and quarter-end closing activities. This position requires someone with strong attention to detail, advanced accounting skills, and the ability to manage large datasets effectively.

Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough reconciliations of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance.

• Compare and reconcile financial data between legacy QuickBooks systems and current platforms to maintain consistency.

• Investigate and resolve discrepancies by identifying their source and implementing solutions.

• Analyze extensive payroll data, including historical records, to support capitalization efforts.

• Contribute to the successful completion of month-end and quarter-end close processes, meeting deadlines for closing October and the quarter.

• Assist with cleanup, validation, and reconciliation tasks related to organizational systems.

• Prepare accurate journal entries and maintain detailed financial records.

• Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies.

• Utilize advanced Excel functions, including pivot tables and macros, to streamline accounting processes.

• Support bank reconciliation processes and ensure proper documentation. Requirements • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a strong background in reconciliation tasks.

• Proficiency in advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables; familiarity with macros is a plus.

• Demonstrated ability to analyze and work with large datasets effectively.

• Experience with month-end and quarter-end closing processes.

• Strong general ledger and journal entry expertise.

• Hands-on experience with payroll data analysis and capitalization support.

• Previous exposure to organizational accounting systems is an advantage.

• Detail-oriented approach with excellent problem-solving and investigative skills.
