Major Purpose:
The Operations Supervisor will provide support to the Operations Manager in scheduling and logistics; team member development; customer engagement; safety program implementation, process and procedure execution; and general facility and boiler maintenance at Savage’s Morenci Transload and Transportation operations. This operation includes the loading of HAZMAT Molten Sulphur loads via transload from railcar to tractor-trailer units.
What you'll be doing:
+ Collect and review Operator paperwork from previous shifts, l ook over Lead paperwork and check if loads are correct from the railcar listed
+ Check and Update Railcar Spot Board
+ Oversee that all Team Members have Proper PPE for Daily Tasks, e nsure all Team Members are following SOP’s, and are doing proper checks of Equipment and Facility Participate in SS
+ Work with customer for any major repairs on facility/ contact contract management for needed work orders
+ Program- Monthly Meeting, Observations, Shaps
+ Shift Supervisor will dispatch Trucks for on coming Shift
Requirements to be successful in this position:
+ Ability to work independently in an industrial setting, effectively balancing customer, company and team member needs, to delegate and/or involve others where appropriate, to interact and work effectively with vendors, always maintaining a high level of integrity.
+ Understands and is committed to the growth and development of team members, and provides motivation and encouragement to team members to follow his/her example in the areas of safety, health and the environment.
+ Effectively communicate on several different levels and with various stakeholders (customers, team members and other managers).
+ Must be a hands-on, hardworking self-starter, with the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced, changing environment.
+ Assist with the professionalism & cleanliness of the operation through consistent use of our 5S principles/system.
+ Must be willing to work a rotational schedule based on the needs of the operation.
Education/Experience:
+ Minimum 2 years’ experience supervising or managing crews.
+ MSHA experience and exposure a plus but not required.
+ Prior experience in Transload bulk hazardous materials a plus but not required.
+ Experience in general maintenance, Boiler, or mechanic skills and repair (Preferred).
+ Must have excellent written and oral communication skills, k nowledge of computers and related hardware/software
+ General knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the transportation industry.
Here are some of the physical requirements for this role:
+ The candidate should be in good physical condition. Some of the work will be outdoors working alongside field personnel, climbing stairs, ladders and on and off equipment.
+ Able to work outdoors year round in all conditions, able to walk several miles per day, able to lift 50 lbs. without assistance, able to climb/stoop/crawl.
+ Must be able to work on elevated surfaces, to work in all types of weather conditions, to pass respirator fit test.
