Savage is hiring an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator at our Earth, Texas Operation. The Team Member Operator (TMO )'s primary responsibilities include all general labor duties, but are not limited to operating wheeled and track mobile equipment, unloading unit trains, and operating the coal handling system. The TMO will report directly to the Team Leader.

Here is what you will be doing
+ Operate dozer/loader to move coal and feed conveyors
+ Performs daily maintenance on heavy equipment as required
+ Occasionally lifts/pushes/pulls objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
+ Complete other duties as directed such as operating the reclaim system and RCD controls as needed
+ General Housekeeping
Here is what we will need from you
+ 18 years of age or older
+ Experience in dozer operations, front-end loaders, excavators, and other heavy equipment
+ Work in a team environment, follow company safety guidelines, onsite regulations, and direction from supervisors
+ Must adhere to all safety policies and procedures and understand a worker’s right to stop work when potential safety hazards threaten oneself or others or damage to company assets
+ Work rotating 12-hour shifts and overtime as directed, reliably reporting for shifts and adhering to work schedules
+ Ability to perform basic computer functions
+ Must possess effective interpersonal communication and organizational skills and be able to follow both written and verbal instructions
+ Must be willing and motivated to learn additional skill sets as directed
+ High School Diploma or GED
Here are some of the Physical Requirements of this position
This position works primarily in an outdoor environment with minimal to high concentrations of coal dust. Must be able to work in extreme weather such as; wind, heat, and cold. Must have the ability and willingness to perform the essential physical functions of the position:
+ Work at heights as well as climbing stairs and ladders
+ Lift up to 50 pounds
+ Lifting or moving objects over 50 pounds must be accomplished by either using extra manpower or machine-assisted lifting techniques
+ Required to wear proper personal protective equipment as the environment and the position dictate
+ Required to pass annual OSHA respirator and pulmonary function tests
+ Must be clean-shaven or maintain facial hair in a manner that allows for proper respirator use in emergency situations
