    Job Title: Process Technician

    Job Description

    The Process Technician will collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to drive defect reduction, support scale-up efforts, and maintain rigorous line discipline for critical process steps. This multidisciplinary role ideally requires expertise in multiple process tools, metrology, and failure analysis methods.

    Responsibilities

    + Review and flag substrate-tape runs that are experimental or deviate from specifications.

    + Support, execute, and report on DOE-driven studies in PVD, copper electro-plating, electropolishing, and CVD to boost capability, control, and yield.

    + Diagnose and resolve line-related defects, including coating thickness, adhesion, and surface roughness, with minimal downtime.

    + Execute root-cause investigations on suspect or experimental tapes using SEM, XRF, ICP-MS, adhesion testing, profilometry, and other relevant instrumentation.

    + Document qualification runs, maintain SOPs, and support change-control workflows to ensure reproducibility.

    + Assist process engineers in conducting DOE’s by preparing material, loading, and operating the tools.

    Essential Skills

    + 3+ years of experience as a process technician or process engineer in a semiconductor or advanced material manufacturing environment.

    + Hands-on experience in developing and sustaining sputter, electro-plating (including copper), electropolishing, and chemical-vapor deposition processes in a production setting.

    + Associate's Degree in Engineering, Material Science, or Physics.

     

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

     

    + Semiconductor manufacturing experience (MEMS, thin-film, or HTS) is a plus.

    + Experience in preparing and handling samples for metrology and inspection tools (SEM, XRF, ICP-MS, adhesion tests, profilometry).

    + Familiarity with Six Sigma, SPC, and automation tools.

    + Ability to produce and maintain validation packages (SOPs, work instructions, change orders).

    Work Environment

    This position requires sitting at a desk and viewing a computer screen for extended periods while performing other office tasks. There is a need to move around the office, including occasional standing, walking, and bending to retrieve documents, attend meetings, or use office equipment. Some light lifting may be required, up to 20 lbs.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $36.00/hr.
