Job Title: Construction Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Construction Manager to provide onsite management for the implementation of large-scale combustion turbine construction projects. The role involves managing project safety, quality, construction, and testing while ensuring environmental compliance. You will be responsible for tracking the project against its schedule, reporting status to management and customers, and implementing processes in a timely, safe, cost-effective, and environmentally conscious manner.
Responsibilities
+ Manage field personnel to monitor day-to-day activities, oversee contractors, and ensure construction adheres to contract specifications and codes.
+ Ensure the execution and practice of all safety policies by all construction employees and foster a safety culture.
+ Investigate accidents and safety incidents with the assistance of the safety department, and communicate findings to management.
+ Administer and monitor safety programs and perform safety assessments.
+ Utilize quality control and assurance processes to meet performance measurements and standards.
+ Communicate construction progress regarding safety, production, risk, schedule, finance, and quality to stakeholders.
+ Coordinate with external contractors and equipment manufacturers, support site permitting, equipment selection, project design specifications, and develop project schedules and cost estimates.
+ Provide onsite contractor and local government interface, and manage community relations.
+ Develop project Punch List and ensure completion, validate milestones, and assist in resolving field problems.
+ Ensure quality through continuous monitoring of construction and installation QC processes.
+ Supervise professional, non-exempt, and bargaining unit employees, contractors, and subcontractors engaged in renewable site construction activities.
Essential Skills
+ 8 years of professional experience in construction-related positions.
+ 3 years of supervisory experience.
+ Valid driver's license.
+ Project management skills with experience in managing construction projects.
+ Knowledge of safety rules and applicable building codes.
+ Knowledge of construction standards, work methods, equipment, maintenance practices, and materials.
+ Ability to read and understand maps, plans, profiles, and drawings.
+ Financial skills such as budget development and interpreting financial reports.
+ Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
+ Proficiency in computer software programs (e.g., email, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with combustion turbine OEMs preferred.
+ Experience in large electric construction, gas and electric operations, or related fields.
+ Experience with labor union management preferred.
Work Environment
The role supports improvements to simple cycle gas turbines at a Power Plant in Wisconsin. The position is night shift during two 60-day outages, with 12-hour shifts, 7 days a week. After the outages, the role transitions to first shift to support general plant work. The work involves complex lock-out tag-out procedures and collaboration with GE, turbine experts, contractors, and plant personnel. The manager will provide daily and weekly reports to the project manager and monitor time and materials work.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
