Job Title: Quality Specialist** **Job Description
The Quality Specialist is responsible for ensuring that all products meet established quality standards before leaving the facility. This role involves inspecting, testing, and monitoring production processes, identifying deviations, and implementing corrective actions to maintain compliance with customer, industry, and company requirements. The Quality Specialist partners closely with production, engineering, and management teams to drive continuous improvement and uphold a culture of quality.
Responsibilities
+ Perform inspections and testing of raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to verify compliance with specifications.
+ Monitor manufacturing processes to identify potential quality risks, deviations, or defects.
+ Document inspection results, test data, and nonconformance reports accurately and timely.
+ Collaborate with production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
+ Maintain calibration and proper use of measurement tools, gauges, and testing equipment.
+ Conduct root cause analysis for recurring issues and recommend process improvements.
+ Ensure compliance with IATF, SQEMS, customer requirements, and other regulatory standards.
+ Support internal and external audits by providing documentation and quality records.
+ Lead and facilitate A3 problem-solving meetings to address quality or process concerns.
+ Prepare and analyze data reports using Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
+ Train production staff on quality standards, inspection techniques, and best practices.
+ Promote continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce waste.
+ Travel as needed to mill sites, supplier locations, training sessions, or inventory counts.
+ Participate in cross-departmental meetings to share customer demand updates and resolve potential issues.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of quality control or quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment (steel and aluminum manufacturing preferred).
+ Strong knowledge of quality tools (SPC, 8D, FMEA, control plans, PPAP).
+ Familiarity with ISO 9001, IATF, and SQEMS requirements.
+ Proficiency with measurement instruments (calipers, micrometers, CMM, gauges).
+ Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP).
+ Experience leading or participating in structured problem-solving sessions (A3, 5 Whys).
+ Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
+ Detail-oriented with strong documentation and organizational abilities.
+ Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in automotive production or metal and aluminum industries.
+ Ability to frequently walk production floors, stand for extended periods, and lift up to 25 lbs.
+ Flexibility to work different shifts or overtime as business needs require.
+ Comfortable working in a team-oriented, high-pressure environment with frequent problem-solving demands.

Work Environment
The work environment is a very clean and climate-controlled warehouse with a temperature of roughly 70 degrees year-round. Employees must be comfortable with noise, machinery, and manufacturing environments requiring PPE. The role involves frequent use of communication tools and requires flexibility to support customer and production needs during high-demand periods. The shift start time is 6 PM CST, with 8+ hours/day, and may include mandatory weekend work. Flexibility to cover other shifts if needed is required.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $62400.00/yr.
