    Centerless Grinder Operator

    Job Description

    Monitor machine performance and ensure parts meet quality standards. Perform basic measurements and visual inspections for accuracy. Maintain a clean and organized work area, and follow all safety guidelines and company policies.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up and operate automatic and manual Cincinnati centerless grinders, ensuring proper alignment, feed rates, and wheel parameters.

    + Perform through-dress (TD) grinding and profile grinding using angle-head and button-head parts as needed.

    + Mount, dress, and replace grinding and regulating wheels per specifications, using dressing devices and spindles.

    + Adjust tooling, cams, fixtures, and head stops for precise control of depth of cut and part protrusion.

    + Troubleshoot automatic loading systems and manual controls; identify and correct operational issues to minimize downtime.

    + Read blueprints, overlays, and job orders to determine machine settings, wheels, and tooling for each job.

    + Utilize micrometers, calipers, comparators, gauge blocks, indicators, and protrusion gauges to inspect parts during and after grinding.

    + Hold tight tolerances (typically ±0.0005″ or ±0.0001″), recognizing and rejecting out-of-spec parts.

    Essential Skills

    + Ability to read and understand basic work instructions.

    + Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

    + Physical ability to lift and handle bar stock as needed.

    + Ability to operate forklift and jib cranes.

    + Capable of reading tape measures and micrometers.

    + Experience with lathe, blueprint reading, mill, inspection, hand tools, calipers, CNC setup, lathe machine, grinder, and metal fabrication shop.

    + Experience in machine setup and operation.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rock Hill, SC.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
