    Job Title: Forklift Mechanic

    1st shift

    30 per hour with OT

    Job Description

    As a Forklift Mechanic, you will perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts. You will interpret manufacturer's technical manuals to execute necessary maintenance and repairs, troubleshoot problems including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and detect potential issues, safety concerns, or malfunctions. You will need a good working knowledge of brake systems, tire/wheel changes, and the ability to work on LP, gas, and diesel systems. You will replace broken or defective parts and order replacements for major repairs. Reassembly of forklifts and making necessary adjustments for safe operation will also be part of your responsibilities. Safety inspections and cleaning of equipment will be required before forklifts are released back to the work floor.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts.

    + Interpret manufacturer's technical manuals for maintenance and repairs.

    + Troubleshoot forklift problems including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

    + Replace broken or defective parts and order replacements for major repairs.

    + Reassemble forklifts and make necessary adjustments for safe operation.

    + Conduct safety inspections and clean equipment before releasing forklifts to the work floor.

    Essential Skills

    + 3 years or more of MHE repair or Forklift repair experience.

    + Ability to troubleshoot and work on hydraulics and attachments.

    + Experience working on electric and propane forklifts.

    + Ability to work with various lift trucks such as Hyster, Cat, Crown, and Mitsubishi.

    + Good working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 8 years or more of experience is preferred.

    + Strong electrical is preferred.

    + Experience with heavy equipment maintenance is a plus.

    + Ability to work with electric, low voltage, and 480v systems, as well as AC/DC.

    Work Environment

     

    Work in an industrial, clean, and large complex. Training occurs Monday to Friday from 6 AM to 4:30 PM, with a 30-minute lunch and two 15-minute breaks. Expect to work 40-45 hours a week and one Saturday a month.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $32.00/hr.
