• 1:1 Classroom Aide

    Williamson Central School District (Williamson, NY)


    This is a full-time position in the Middle School starting ASAP . Hours are 7:25 - 2:20

     

    + Assists with classroom activities and regular school routines as directed by the teacher.

    + Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.

    + Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.

    + Supports student(s) with individual needs as identified by the teaching team (i.e. Feeding, toileting, self-care, social emotional development, academic).

    + Corrects papers or workbooks and keeps records as assigned by the teacher.

    + Prepares bulletin boards and displays as requested by the teacher.

    + Serves as the chief source of information and help to any substitute teacher assigned in the absence of the regular teacher.

    + Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers

    + Participates in in-service training programs as assigned.

    + Supervises lunch or play periods as scheduled.

    + Carries out any other assigned duties and/or responsibilities, which may be deemed appropriate by the Superintendent of Schools and the Board of Education

    Job Qualifications

    + High School diploma, Associate degree, or additional training in area of services is preferred.

    + Sincere interest in working with children and their developmental needs.

    + Ability to work with and follow instructions of the teacher.
