    Within Operational Services, the Transformation Solutions Platforms (TSP) is a multi-functional group that is helping to drive transformation across Operational Services and the broader firm. We use a variety of methodologies, tools and capabilities to drive large-scale change. We partner with teams across Schwab to deliver best-in-class experience, service, and processing solutions for our clients and advisors.

Smart Processing requires end-to-end, ecosystem strategy, vision, planning, and execution. This drives tangible near-term benefits for Schwab and our clients, including greater scale via increased levels of automation, greater clarity into operational processes, and more efficient and personalized service.

     

    As a Sr. Business Analyst for our Status Platform, you will work alongside the Product Owner to help carry out the product vision. You will translate complex business requirements into application user stories, ensuring features are consistent with our overarching platform strategy and accelerating value delivery to our business partners, advisors, and clients. As a key member of a multi-functional product team, you will chip in to the evolution of underlying technology solutions, workflow processing, and client experience elements. You will be responsible for identifying use cases to drive new features and functionality, collaborating with cross-enterprise teams to ensure successful launch, user adoption, and realization of client and business value.

    What you are good at

    + Recognizing trends/patterns and approaching problem solving with curiosity and a desire to understand the underlying issue

    + Partnering with the Product Owner to establish a vision and execution strategy for the scrum team by actively engaging in scrum ceremonies and providing feedback on sprint goals & achievements

    + Participating in scrum ceremonies and driving refinement of user stories

    + Helping to lead and develop product backlog, as well as user stories backlog for implementation

    + Partnering with Scrum Team (Developers, QAs, Scrum Masters) to execute on Sprint Goals and PI Commitments

    + Highlighting product features and tell stories in a manner clearly understandable to the development team

    + Gathering and documenting requirements as user stories, translating functional requirements to technical requirements

    + Coordinating development, testing, and implementation of solutions with technology partners

    + Supporting user’s post-deployment, identifying issues, and driving resolution with our technology partners

    + Supervising the progress of product development, and assist with product release planning and testing

    + Partnering with business users and act as a liaison between business and technical teams

    + Working with a multitude of collaborators to document requirements that drive transformational change to existing business processes

    This role requires a highly motivated, organized, and experienced business-focused individual with a proven record of software delivery in a rapidly changing agile environment.

    Required qualifications:

    + 5+ years of experience in technical analysis or operations experience for an investment management firm with focus on data-related functions highly preferred

    + Experience using JIRA, Rally and Confluence, or equivalent tools is required

    + Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst with track record of delivering business process requirements and use cases is required

    Preferred qualifications:

    + A background in the financial services industry is highly preferred

    + Curiosity about APIs and microservices architecture and enthusiasm for large scale transformations

    + Bias for recognition and enthusiasm for intentionally celebrating the teams’ wins (big or small)

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    + Good interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, influencing, prioritization, decision-making and conflict resolution skills

    + Solid experience and understanding of Agile in developing epics, themes, user stories, supplementary requirements, and business rules is essential

    + Experience driving innovative and strategic enterprise data solutions

    + Bachelor’s degree, preferably in technical field

     

    In addition to the salary range, this role is also eligible for bonus or incentive opportunities
