    This position is located in the Duncan, Spartanburg area. We have been in operation for over 50 years and offer fantastic benefits and a stable work environment.     How will you make a difference?

    As a member of the WPT and a Project Quality Engineer you will be responsible for:

    Leading **Project Quality** activities in the project according to **APQP Process.** Ensuring that quality deliverable and performance targets are achieved in the project

     

    Set **Project Quality Targets** aligned with Product Line and Customer requirements. Manage and share associated **KPIs** with all Project Core Team members and PL Quality Management (PPR)

     

    Lead and Manage the **Customer issues** in the project, according to Wabtec rules and tools

     

    Act as **Customer Quality Interface** (Internal / ext customers) for assigned Projects.

     

    Issue LLC related to safety/hot issue NCR during project execution, and **project quality REX** for every new project

     

    What do we want to know about you?

     

    + Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, from Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or similar career.

    + Experience in Quality Assurance or similar roles.

    + Experience with corrective action activities (5-Why, 8D, Etc)

    + Fluent English with oral and written communication skills.

    + Able to work in a cross-functional matrix environment.

    + Experience at least 4 years in related areas.

    + Experience or good knowledge of Manufacturing assembly processes.

    + Experience or good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc).

    + Knowledge of Minitab or similar statistical software tools.

    + Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma or Quality tools. Green belt or black belt certification preferred.

    + Certified Internal Auditor.

    + Ability to coordinate several projects/tasks simultaneously.

    + Effective problem identification and solution skills.

     

    What will your typical day look like?

     

    + **Lead project Quality activity inside the Project management team** :

    + Represent the project in the Quality network and Quality network inside the project.

    + Being Quality interface for Quality CbC during project tender phase

    + Support PM team to set up the project gates inside PMT tool (APQP)

    + Perform all quality tasks as defined in APQP model. Ensure Project Quality deliverable and quality performances are achieved

    + APQP : attend the gate review , and communicate on regular basis about the Quality Performance of the project (KPIs)

    + APQP : Has the authority to stop and release the execution of any process/product within the Project

    + Lead internal-FAI to prepare the Customer-FAI, assure follow up of open points until full FAI GO

    + **Ensure that Critical Characteristic Management Process is respected and applied at project level**

    + Ensure that control plan is applied and respected in serial production phase . Ensure the updates in case of REX.

    + Ensure that project/product/process modification are fully validated , and customer is informed if needed

    + Has the authority to reject any project/product/process modification if impacting the project quality performances

    + Ensure configuration management is respected according Standard

    + **Ensure that Return of Experience and product validation steps are available on the project part list (with support of product Q Engineers team)**

    + **QRQC & NCR Management** :

    + Lead Root cause Analysis according to standard methodology with CoC, Ops, Purchasing and all other needed experts

    + Manage the customer issues until the full closure and ensure the formalization/sharing of the associated REX (LLC) within the project (Design/Process review) and within the PL (for Hot / Safety Issues)

    + Collaborate to Reliability Growth performance follow-up (NCr management)

    + Ensure the regular communication to customer and management level (PL QRQC) during the overall claim resolution period

    + **Customer Quality Interface :**

    + Ensure Interface with Customer and involved Siscos / Manufacturing sites for all quality related matters (Project deliverables, NCR, etc.)

    + Lead and prepare Customer Quality Visits, Audits and meetings (FAI, Project audit, etc. )

    + When applicable submit and obtain Customer approval for any **concession** ; Follow-up until concession closure.

    + Manage **Customer Issues** and Communicate regularly about the progress status

The employee will work in areas exposed to production activities to include but not limited to production machinery, assembly operations, overhead cranes usage, and forklift traffic. The employee will be required to use personal protective equipment to prevent exposure to workplace hazards.

     

    Mental Demands: While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret data, information and documents; analyze and solve problems; use math and mathematical reasoning; observe and interpret situations; learn, apply and teach new information or skills; and interact with other employees, customers and vendors.

    Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary rate for this role is currently $67400-96000. The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include annual bonus, if eligible.
