About the Role
As a **Senior Quality Engineer – Automation** , you will make an impact by driving quality assurance early in the development lifecycle and building robust automation frameworks within agile teams. You will be a valued member of the Quality Engineering & Assurance team and collaborate closely with developers, product owners, and other stakeholders to ensure high-quality software delivery.
In This Role, You Will
+ Work within **SAFe Agile** development teams using a **BDD approach** , supporting developers to assure quality early.
+ Manage all automation setup activities and establish standards.
+ Utilize development, data manipulation, and scripting skills to engineer repeatable technical tests.
+ Perform all forms of **functional and non-functional testing** .
+ Coordinate automation testing activities across teams.
+ Report on testing progress and strategy, providing insights to inform management decisions.

What You Need to Have
+ **6–8 years of QA experience** with strong expertise in automation.
+ Hands-on experience with **Cucumber** , **Gherkin scripting** , and **BDD frameworks** .
+ Proficiency in **Java** , **Selenium** , **Serenity** , and web services ( **REST** and **SOAP** ).
+ Understanding of test data management for automation cases.
+ Familiarity with build and deployment tools such as **Maven** , **GitHub** , and **Jenkins** .
+ Experience in **CI/CD pipelines** .

+ Strong initiative in setting up automation frameworks and standards.
+ Ability to mentor and coordinate automation activities across teams.
+ Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
+ Experience in large-scale enterprise environments with complex integrations.

•** **_Salary and Other Compensation:_
• The annual salary for this position is between [$53,477/- to $92,500/-] depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
• This position is also eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
