    Summary You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH MANAGER in the Base Safety of OFFICE OF THE COMMANDING GENERAL. Responsibilities You will report to the Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center (MCMWTC)'s Director of 57/Mission Assurance Branch and serves as the on-site safety advisor to the MCMWTC Commanding Officer and his staff. You will review and analyzes accident and incident reports, standard operating procedures (SOP), organizational and all other information and and to determine compliance or noncompliance with regulatory requirements and guidelines. You will perform inspections and surveys to determine compliance with safety requirements. You will performs staff assistance visits and analysis for overall evaluation of the Safety Program for compliance with requirements and is responsible for specific actions that are designed to improve and control the MCMWTC's safety performance. You will provide advice and assistance to the other staff members, to field personnel in the resolution of controversial problems related to the occupational safety function. You will develop courses of action to minimize or eliminate hazardous operations and conditions and devises alternative measures to meet unconventional circumstances, which increase the risk of an accident. You will serve as the principal representative to the Commander with the delegated technical responsibility for formulation and management of the Occupational Safety and Health Program. You will monitor the tactical safety program and provides leadership for the daily activities of the GS-0018- 11 Occupational Safety and Health Specialist (Tactical Safety). Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Providing oversight of safety and health concepts, principles, practices, procedures, regulations, standards, operational directives and methodologies sufficient to identifying and evaluating the effectiveness of occupational safety, health and tactical safety, explosive, ammunition and range safety programs. Providing oversight of high risk training programs, job hazard, risk assessment and other analytical techniques, as well as occupational work processes and their related hazards.
