    Structural Engineer – High-End Retail Projects (NYC)

     

    Bring iconic retail spaces to life in the heart of New York City. We’re seeking a Structural Engineer to join our fast‑paced, collaborative team and contribute to high‑profile flagship retail projects across Manhattan, New Jersey, and Connecticut.

    What You’ll Do

    + Perform structural engineering design and analysis for high-end retail and flagship store projects.

    + Work closely with principals, architects, and project managers to ensure structural systems meet design intent, code requirements, and client expectations.

    + Review and mark up drawings, coordinate with drafters, and provide clear technical direction.

    + Prepare calculations, technical reports, and project documentation.

    + Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams while managing tight deadlines in an energetic office environment.

    + Conduct occasional site visits to verify existing conditions or support construction phases.

    What We’re Looking For

    + 2–5+ years of structural engineering experience.

    + Strong understanding of steel, concrete, and cold‑formed metal framing systems.

    + Proficiency with structural analysis/design software (e.g., RISA, RAM, ETABS) and familiarity with Revit/AutoCAD workflows.

    + Ability to review drawings and provide precise technical guidance.

    + Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple fast‑moving projects.

    + Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering (Master’s preferred).

    Bonus Points For

    + Experience in high-end retail or commercial interiors.

    + Familiarity with NYC building codes, DOB requirements, and special inspections.

    + Experience coordinating with contractors and performing field surveys.

    + FE or PE licensure (or active progress toward it).

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New York, NY.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $45.00/hr.
