Description
A company in Downtown Houston is looking for a Payroll Analyst to join their team on a contract to hire basis. This role is 100% onsite.
Responsibilities:
• Process bi-weekly payroll using PeopleSoft North American Payroll module with high attention to accuracy and compliance.
• Serve as the payroll subject matter expert for designated client accounts, ensuring timely resolution of issues.
• Conduct detailed audits to verify payroll data integrity and compliance with company policies and regulations.
• Collaborate with internal departments to resolve payroll discrepancies and ensure seamless communication.
• Collect, calculate, and input payroll data while maintaining accurate records.
• Export and review timesheets from the time and attendance system for payroll processing, addressing any discrepancies found.
• Ensure proper handling of additional pay components, including bonuses, garnishments, loans, and deductions.
• Manage payroll inbox inquiries and follow up with employees to provide excellent customer service.
• Assist in both internal and external audits related to payroll operations.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet deadlines during critical payroll periods.
Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field preferred, or equivalent certification in Payroll Practices.
• Minimum of 2 years of payroll experience, with 2-5 years preferred.
• Proficiency in PeopleSoft Payroll systems and familiarity with payroll tax requirements.
• Solid understanding of federal, state, and local payroll laws, particularly in a multi-state environment.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with employees and stakeholders.
• Ability to analyze data, identify issues, and recommend practical solutions.
• Adaptability to changing priorities and environments, ensuring efficiency in workflow.
