    THE POSITION

    Do you have strong organizational skills and possess a keen eye for detail? The Department of Labor & Industry, Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation Services (BVRS) is on the lookout for an ambitious Fiscal Assistant to complete our team. Working in the Pittsburgh District Office, you will have the opportunity to utilize your fiscal knowledge to perform a broad range of fiscal operations to allow for the authorization and invoicing of customer services. If you have a passion for accuracy and experience in bookkeeping principles, we want to hear from you!

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Fiscal Assistant, you will process financial transactions on a daily basis and approve service authorizations in the Commonwealth Workforce Development System (CWDS) for services provided. Work includes reviewing encumbrances, cancellations, invoices, and fiscal data. This position generates reports, apprises management of budget status and identifies and reports potential fiscal irregularities. Your attention to detail will be key as you can expect to manage client services purchasing cards including payment and card tracking. You will have the opportunity to communicate directly with customers, vendors, service providers, and other district offices to answer questions and coordinate processing fiscal business. Our staff will rely on you to provide instruction and guidance regarding fiscal

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment

    + Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, - (negotiable). Monday - Friday, with 30 or 60-minute lunch, (depending on work hours).

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time upon successful completion of a training period. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Pittsburgh. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work;or

    + An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by six credits in accounting;or

    + Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

    + Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
