The **Retail Sales Associates** support the daily operations of the lodge's retail outlets, providing exceptional customer service to guests from around the world. This role assists with sales, merchandising, stocking, cashiering, and maintaining a clean, welcoming store environment.

Summer days in Alaska stretch nearly endlessly, with up to 20 hours of daylight on the Summer Solstice. Spanning 6.2 million acres, Denali National Park & Preserve is home to Denali, the highest peak in North America, and attracts over half a million visitors annually. Conveniently accessible by road—4.5 hours from Anchorage and 2 hours from Fairbanks—this breathtaking area offers daily bus services along the park road throughout the warm summer months, providing opportunities for hiking, wildlife viewing, climbing, and camping.
Located just 7 miles south of the entrance to Denali National Park, the Denali Park Village Hotel operates from May to September. Our guests enjoy comfortable accommodations, exceptional dining options, and live entertainment in a stunning natural setting.
Position Details: This exciting seasonal role is available from **May 7 - September 17,2026** . We offer competitive wages, comfortable on-site housing, and a variety of fun activities to keep your summer vibrant. Stay active in our on-site gym and enjoy an inclusive meal plan for just $16 a day.

Job Responsibilities
Customer Service
+ Greet and assist guests in a warm and professional manner.
+ Provide information about products, lodge services, park-related items, and local area tips.
+ Answer questions, resolve minor issues, and ensure every guest feels valued.
Sales & Cash Handling
+ Operate POS systems accurately for purchases, returns, and exchanges.
+ Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts in accordance with lodge procedures.
+ Follow proper cash-handling and financial control policies at all times.
+ Promote store products without commission-based selling or pressure tactics.
Store Operations
+ Stock, rotate, and replenish merchandise throughout the day.
+ Assist with receiving, pricing, tagging, and organizing inventory.
+ Maintain clean, organized, and visually appealing store displays.
+ Ensure counters, and high-traffic areas remain tidy.
+ Follow opening and closing procedures as assigned.
Teamwork & Communication
+ Work collaboratively with fellow retail associates and supervisors.
+ Communicate stock needs, guest feedback, or operational issues promptly.
+ Support lodge-wide initiatives and assist other departments as needed during peak periods.
Qualifications
+ Prior retail, customer service, or hospitality experience preferred but not required.
+ Excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
+ Ability to handle busy periods while maintaining high service standards.
+ Comfortable learning product details and sharing information with guests.
+ Basic math skills and ability to handle cash transactions accurately.
+ A willingness to work in a remote environment with a diverse team.
+ Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
+ Ability to stand for long periods and move throughout the store.
+ Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. for stocking and receiving tasks.
+ Comfortable working in a remote location with limited access to typical urban amenities.
+ Ability to navigate occasional high guest volume during peak season.
