Senior Software Engineer (IC4) - Oracle HDI Analytics Platform Infrastructure Engineering & Reliability

**About the Role** Join Oracle's Health Data Intelligence (HDI) team as a Senior Software Engineer (IC4) and drive the reliability, scalability, and innovation of our world-class analytics platform infrastructure. In this individual contributor role, you'll architect, build, and transform cutting-edge systems that power healthcare analytics, ensuring seamless performance across massive datasets and diverse cloud environments. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver robust solutions that enable business intelligence, reporting, and data-driven insights for global healthcare leaders.
Required Skills
+ **Infrastructure & Reliability:** Expertise in designing, implementing, and optimizing high-availability infrastructure with fault tolerance and performance tuning.
+ **Data Technologies:** Proficiency in Vertica, Data Warehousing Platforms and tools including columnar storage/analytics, and ETL frameworks.
+ **BI & Reporting:** Hands-on experience integrating and enhancing Business Intelligence tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Oracle Analytics) for actionable insights.
+ **DevOps/SRE Practices:** Strong skills in automation, CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, Kubernetes), Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and monitoring/observability (Prometheus, Grafana).
+ **Cloud Ecosystems:** Deep knowledge of multi-cloud environments (AWS, Oracle Cloud) with focus on cost efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
+ **Problem-Solving & Collaboration:** Proven ability to troubleshoot production issues, conduct root-cause analysis, mentor teams, and contribute to technical roadmaps.
+ **Programming & Tools:** Solid foundation in languages like Python/Java/Go, plus containerization (Docker) and scripting for cloud-native architectures.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
+ Design, implement, and optimize infrastructure for the Oracle HDI Analytics Platform, focusing on high availability, fault tolerance, and performance tuning.
+ Build and transform scalable data pipelines, leveraging Vertica for columnar storage and analytics, alongside ETL processes for efficient data ingestion and transformation.
+ Integrate and enhance Business Intelligence (BI) and reporting tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, or Oracle Analytics) to deliver actionable insights from complex datasets.
+ Champion DevOps and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices: Automate deployments, monitor system health with tools like Prometheus/Grafana, and implement CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Jenkins, or Kubernetes.
+ Work across multi-cloud ecosystems (AWS, Oracle Cloud, On-Prem) to ensure platform agnosticism, cost efficiency, and compliance with healthcare standards.
+ Troubleshoot and resolve production issues proactively, conducting root-cause analysis and driving continuous improvements in system reliability.
+ Mentor junior engineers, contribute to technical roadmaps, and stay ahead of emerging technologies in data warehousing and cloud-native architectures.
What We're Looking For
+ Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ 8+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in infrastructure engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles.
+ Deep expertise in data warehousing and ETL frameworks.
+ Proven hands-on experience with BI/reporting tools and analytics platforms; familiarity with Oracle HDI or similar healthcare data systems is a plus.
+ Strong proficiency in cloud technologies: Infrastructure as Code (IaC), container orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes), and monitoring/observability stacks.
+ Excellent problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering reliable systems at scale in fast-paced environments.
+ Passion for healthcare innovation and a collaborative mindset

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only
US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
