    Wirecutter is seeking a production coordinator to support our video team with day-to-day operations, including scheduling video shoots, arranging travel, acquiring and organizing props, and providing logistics support amid fast-moving deadlines. You will be an important part of our team focused on expanding video journalism and developing new series and storytelling formats to bring journalists' recommendations to viewers on all platforms.

     

    You are organized, creative, and collaborative. You will be eager to learn and excited to work closely with editors and writers in the newsroom.

     

    The role is based in New York, and you'll coordinate shoots both remotely and at Wirecutter's Long Island City office.

    Responsibilities:

    + Coordinate and book video and photo shoots, managing cross-team communication, and occasionally handling travel and lodging

    + Be on hand during video and photo shoots to ensure production runs smoothly

    + Source props for shoots and assist video producers in prop and gear management

    + Consistently meet deadlines and be able to juggle several tasks

    + Light copywriting and video editing, including headline and caption writing

    + Some multimedia production for Wirecutter's website, including uploading, organizing, and placing videos for publication

    + May occasionally capture footage and handle light video edits as needed

    + Perform related work as assigned

    + This role reports to the Senior Social Video Strategist.

    Basic Qualifications:

    + 2+ years of relevant experience

    + A comfort with video editing software

    + Familiarity with filming on both iPhones and DSLRs

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Excellent news and editorial judgment.

    + Familiarity with journalistic standards and willingness to learn Wirecutter's mission and methodology.

    The annual base pay range for this role is between:

    $65,000 — $70,000 USD
