Summary:
The Associate Vice President (AVP) of Philanthropy is a senior executive leader of the Northern Light Health Foundation and a key member of the Foundation’s executive leadership team. Reporting to the Foundation President, the AVP provides strategic leadership for all philanthropy teams across Northern Light Health’s member organizations.
This role requires a dynamic, highly experienced philanthropy leader with a proven record of securing major and principal gifts, leading high-performing teams, and building strong donor and community relationships. The AVP ensures alignment of fundraising strategies across the system, strengthens donor engagement, and supports philanthropy lead in delivering exceptional fundraising results that advance the mission and priorities of Northern Light Health.
Responsibilities:
+ Provide strategic direction to philanthropy teams at each member organization (MO) ensuring alignment with system and member organization priorities.
+ Lead, mentor, and inspire statewide philanthropy team.
+ Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, professional growth, and measurable results.
+ Establish clear expectations for performance, portfolio management, donor strategy, and activity metrics.
+ Maintain a personal portfolio of major and principal gift prospects.
+ Guide MO teams in developing strategic cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship plans for major and principal gifts.
+ Build and deepen relationships with donors, corporate and foundation partners, community leaders, and high-net-worth individuals.
+ Strengthen Northern Light Health engagement and partnership in community.
+ Partner with philanthropy teams to identify new donor and community partnership opportunities.
+ Support proposal development and funding priorities in partnership with philanthropy leads and clinical and administrative leaders.
+ Ensure consistent systemwide standards for stewardship, donor engagement.
+ Champion data-informed decision-making, including reporting, analytics, and forecasting in partnership with philanthropy leads.
+ Support readiness and execution of campaigns and major initiatives across the system.
+ Strengthen cross-system partnerships and collaboration to enhance philanthropic opportunities.

Other Information:
+ Bachelor’s degree and Minimum of 10+ years of progressive fundraising leadership experience, ideally in healthcare.
+ Demonstrated success securing six- and seven-figure gifts and contributing to or leading successful campaigns.

+ Word process application with the ability to create and edit documents, format, use tables, apply footnoting, create table of contents and mail merge techniques.
